What does LaTeX have to do with TLA+? Also I think "most of distributed systems such as AWS" might be an exaggeration. At least the public known examples of formal verification in AWS are scarce.
justincormack · 18 hours ago
AWS talk about it a fair amount, although rarely in a lot of detail.

justincormack · 2 days ago
Or "memory guard". Its only available on "Pro" CPUs though, not all of them.

I think they said last time they are working on a zig project, not doing a rewrite

That's the takeaway I had as well. Spending a quarter of a billion pounds to get more cars into a traffic choked downtown is a bad investment. Spending that money on improving public transit options would improve the quality of life far more.

Barnes is not really “downtown” it has a rural village feel.

When I was a kid I wanted a classic Mini with a transplanted Honda K-Series engine.

It's a big engine for that little car but I'd completely forgotten about them over the years.

It's wild that people are still doing this: https://potentialmotorsport.com/

I might have to reserect that dream. :D

justincormack · 10 days ago
I frine of mine had one many years ago, was weird watching poeples faces as they got overtaken on the motorway by a mini doing 90mph.

The suspension wasnt really up for that.

> What specifically do you mean by ipv6 support?

This question does not make sense. This is equivalent to asking "What specifically do you mean by ipv4 support"

These days both protocols must be supported, and if there is a blocker it should be clearly mentioned.

justincormack · 10 days ago
How do you want to allocate ipv6 addresses to containers? Turns out there are lots of answers. Some people even want to do ipv6 NAT.

Can you give me an example of the situation you are picturing?

Simply because I can't see what you mean by artists being hindered by IP, artists try to create original work, and derivative work from other IP is usually re-interpreted enough to fall under fair use. I can't picture a situation where artists could be hindered on their creations due to IP owned by others.

Sampling in music is now paid for, it used to be free, as one example.

Another reason why social media matters is that people actually spend their free time in all those feeds. On the other hand, using LLMs is much more oriented towards specific utilities. Having 1B users who visit you once a day to ask for an email proofread will not make you profitable.
justincormack · 18 days ago
But, like search, it captures intent to buy much better, while looking at feeds for internatinment does not. Adwords worked because of that, they could capture ad revenue on queries that lead to sales. The amount of extra context in AI chat is even better, as is the ability to steer the conversation to different options.

Its interesting how people are still very positive about Marx’s labour theory of value, despite it being very much of its time and very discredited.
