I am not “anti remote work”. That would be absurd (and, personally, hypocritical). But I strongly believe that remote work isn’t good for some teams, and for some roles.

No remote work for anyone: bad policy.

Everyone on every team can work remote: sometimes a bad policy.

That’s my position. A lot of people who strongly feel they should always have the option of full-time remote work object to that.

The objection was to you telling Apple employees to shut up and never question Apple authority. And then pulling some mental gymnastics that Apple is 'special' with not being remote friendly

Note this only applies to a small number of websites: Netflix, Hulu, etc... And there are plenty of people who do not visit those websites from their primary computer.

So while this is definitely annoying, this is hardly the end for all the indie browsers -- just like EA banning Linux gamers does not mean that all gaming on Linux is dead.

It should be noted that those small number of websites are collectively responsible for most of the internet traffic today:

Google hast the most transparency for your data. Google was one of the first to allow you to download it. It shows you all services you use. It tells you constantly that this is the case.

It has the best 2fa.

it has an appearance of it, but we have no idea if that's all the info and/or the real control we have

And this is why I'm doing DIY IOT.

It's just a little too personal to not be in control

What kind of tools/tech are you using to do this? I've been thinking of doing the same

Great feature, shame it's tied to apple hardware - making it inaccessible to those who cannot afford it.

Chat is awesome. Personally I love it. You get to talk to someone in real time. What's not to like about it. I'm not sure why the OP is so revolted by it. Maybe remove the sound but leave the popup and chat.

When you're trying to read the site for yourself, it can be distracting and a bit obnoxious.

Everyone talking about security and not replacing locks with smart locks seems to forget that you can just kick the fucking door down or jimmy a window open.
jedikv · 6 years ago
Except kicking the door down is not particularly scalable or clandestine

Is this a late april fools joke?

"Metastream: Watch streaming media with friends."

He's complaining that they won't let him use DRM. But his project's purpose is to literally broadcast media to your friends.

DRM exists to prevent that.

>But his project's purpose is to literally broadcast media to your friends

Judging from the repo, there is no broadcast of content. Please take the time to read and think critically before you react with misinformation
