Been meaning to try something like https://valetudo.cloud/ on my iRobot but I haven't checked out how hard it is.

It’s not exactly easy but it is do-able if you have a compliant vacuum, order a pcb adapter and can boot a laptop into a recent Debian os to flash the firmware. Be careful what you say on the telegram group (I was banned for trying to buy a pcb instead of solder one).

Even before you get to the lacking Admin UI, the first thing Rails asks me to do is implement authentication. Coming from a true batteries-included framework like Django that feels like a complete non-starter.

Rails now provides an authentication generator that creates a super terse but fully customisable auth capability. Here’s an example: https://insidertrades.directory/built-with-rails/google-sign...

I'd love to be able to watch people work, who say that they're sucessful with these tools. If there are any devs live streaming software development on Twitch, or just making screen casts (without too many cuts) of how they use these tools in day-to-day work, I'd love to see it.

I recorded a bunch of videos like this for Ruby on Rails. This one is generically relevant about operating Claude hands free with —dangerously-skip-permissions and importantly sandboxing it in a separate user account for security: https://insidertrades.directory/built-with-rails/claude-code...

I use supermaven and cline with my own API key, a setup superior to cursor imo. Tried to go back to gh copilot yesterday but couldn't bear it for a full workday, and reverted to my previous arrangement.

This looks really interesting, cursor has been way better than copilot for me but supermaven looks great. I went down the rabbit hole with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLQuBSuzu2w&t=661s

Your setup sounds interesting. What sort of API key do you use?
