Nice font, I wish it had lower case letters as well. It looks like it could be a great fixed width font for coding.

"The man entered a room at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, on New York's Long Island, without permission as the MRI machine was running..."

People think they can do anything they want nowadays.

htk commented on AI is turning Apple into a "loser"   axios.com/2025/07/10/ai-a... · Posted by u/elsewhen

There is no one challenging Apple on hardware right now. And all of these AI tools can run on Apple machines. So I am not sure that I see Apple falling from its current situation.

That said, Apple isn't really riding this wave of AI. So I feel that Apple isn't benefiting, thus it could likely be growing more than it is if it has an AI strategy that was effective.

So I don't think Apple is a "loser" but it also isn't a "winner." It is more of a spectator who is still strong in their own domain, at least for now.

Unfortunately, this measured (and IMHO very reasonable) opinion doesn't generate clicks.

I finally compiled and expanded on all my various blog posts, tutorials and other Python goodness into a book: Working with Python. It is available as a free pdf download at: https://mkaz.blog/working-with-python/

It's grown over a dozen or so years and when I finally decide to compile into a book, everyone now uses AI and no longer read and learn from books but instead through LLMs.

Great book! I already use python for some simple projects and your book is in the perfect level of practicality that I need. Thank you! Suggestion: create an epub version as well. It would be awesome to read it on a kindle or other e-ink devices.

Hmm, couldn't this be used as a benchmark for quantization algorithms?

I hope they also fix the cursor jumping bug when typing on tables. The bug's been there for years.
htk commented on Ask HN: What projects do you donate to?    · Posted by u/xeonmc

I used to donate to wikipedia, but after seeing how wikimedia spends the money I stopped. Just like Mozilla, they have plenty of money for their core product but spend a ton on other projects that I don't care for.
