So let me get this, if too many neurons firing then it means it is a novice's brain and less neurons firing (targeted firing) means an expert, is that right?
gsaga · 6 years ago
When given a problem, an expert might be able to solve it by recalling the solution to another problem he solved earlier, while a novice has to actually solve the problem.

As someone who doesn't know what Coreboot does, not having this information in the first paragraph of this post isn't super useful. Add to the problem that clicking on the Coreboot logo only takes me to the front page of the blog - and there are no links to the actual homepage...
gsaga · 6 years ago
The about page of blog has 1 paragraph description of coreboot.

Huh?? 64gb of ram, bigger screen, much more powerful GpU, bigger storage options, better thermals, better microphone, better speakers, bigger battery...it’s definitely not just “the same CPU” and a fixed keyboard”...not sure what else did you expect?
gsaga · 6 years ago
What is it going to do with 64GB of ram? Load the whole OS in memory?

Wow, that’s actually really moving! I wonder how close the star got to being shredded in the process. The gravitational forces must have been pretty powerful.
gsaga · 6 years ago
It's just freefalling. So there won't be any significant forces on it unless it gets very close.

One thing I think this misses is that while Minecraft's graphics are blocky, the terrain generator creates rather spectacular and varied scenery. Just wandering around has an appeal evocative of visiting national parks, and building even a basic hut in a nice setting is more appealing than it would be in a plain sandbox.

Maybe that's part of why it feels "somehow pure"?

It's a lot like an atomic simulation. All the items are quantized and can be combined to produce new items.

They follow very simple rules and their interaction with each other can produce amazingly complex machines.

It's the most realistic game we have.

Huh? The most recent Google phone with LineageOS support is the Pixel. The first one, from 2013.

gsaga · 6 years ago
Pixel 1 came out in 2015, right?

I believe you just insulted the entire Debian community.

Jokes aside, tmux reminds me of emacs (similar esthetics & key bindings), the same way screen reminds me of vim (how do I get out of this thing?)

gsaga · 6 years ago
'pkill screen' should do it.
