I don't know how a country filled with guns can survive the normalization of calling people you disagree with Nazi, Fascist, etc. We've all been taught since grade school it was a good thing to kill Nazis, even in small percentages there are mentally unstable people who will hear you call someone a Fascist and take the logical step from "it's good to kill nazis" to "they're a nazi so I should kill them". I am both very pro freedom of speech and right to bear arms, and I think where Canada and the UK have gone with hate speech laws are too far, but I don't know how you solve this.

“It’s good to kill Nazis” — this is certainly the prevailing sentiment in modern culture, reinforced by the vast number of books, stories, movies, and video games that support the premise. But something important is often overlooked in this view of righteousness:

1. People who believe they could never become Nazis are often the most unknowingly susceptible to it.

2. People who believe they can confidently identify a Nazi are often wrong — a mindset akin to witch hunts, where everyone is seen as a witch.

Well shoot. I just ordered a Mudita Kompakt (minimalist smartphone) to help tackle my phone addiction. Seeing the Apple Configurator allows me to define what apps can be installed and the ability to remove official apps such as Safari or the App Store, now I'm wondering if I just want to stick to my iPhone and do this or use my Kompakt when it arrives.

I've being having a very hard time getting any traction for a recent productivity app I made. I am just not sure why it's not getting downloads. I think the concept is pretty cool. It's an iOS app which lets you block addictive apps until you exercise.

I have redone the app icon 3 times, changed the App Store metadata and keywords several times and fixed bugs. I have tried sharing it on reddit, here on hacker news etc but it's gotten no traction :(

Not sure if I want to get rid of it though.

Have you tried paying for Facebook ads for it? My app gets traction that way.

On the off chance you're interested in school lunches I highly recommend watching videos of Japanese school lunches on YouTube. There's a bunch out there now and if you were raised in the American system it will probably blow your mind. The idea that lunches can be freshly made, on site, out of healthy ingredients and children are active participants in serving and cleaning up is just crazy. When I encountered it for the first time I felt like a big part of my childhood had been sold to the lowest bidder.

I attended a Japanese elementary school in California. It served food just as you described. Fresh and made onsite.

I then transitioned to a typical American public school. I was disappointed to find my only option was cheap, factory made, mass produced, strangely flavored and textured food. This stark contrast and downgrade has made me forever passionate about the topic of improving school lunches.
