I think this is similar to AI generated images: it puts a new creative tool in the hands of people who might have had good ideas, but didn't have a mastery of the medium. In that respect, it's cool: if you had a great idea for a sci-fi story but no talent for writing, and if an LLM let you realize your vision, that's neat. It has some negative externalities for the craftsmen, but overall, more creativity is hardly a bad thing.
The real problem is that the most lucrative uses of the tech aren't that. It's generating 10,000 fake books on Amazon on subjects you don't care about. It's cranking out SEO spam, generating monetizable clickbait, etc.
Wondering if anyone had success with this yet. I have several ideas for poetry and prose that I don't have the skill to pull off. I periodically plug them into new models and so far all the results have been completely unsatisfactory.
How does one look at gpt-1 output and think "this has potential"? You could easily produce more interesting output with a Markov chain at the time.
This was the first product demo I've watched in my entire life. Not because I am excited for the new tech, but because I'm anxious to know if I'm already being put out of my job. Not this time, it seems.

Interesting. This is quite contrary to my experience. Using LLMs for things ouside my expertise produces crappy results which I can only identify as such months later when my expertise expands. Meanwhile delegating the boring parts that I know too well to agents proved to be a huge productivity boost.
Can someone please explain why we still have chargebacks in 2025? Don't accept cards without 3DS, problem solved. If not, why not? Are some important consumer segments still stuck with cards that don't have it?

Same thing. Couldn't get it to work with an API key (which worked just fine in Aider before). Couldn't get it to work with a Gemini Code Assist Standard license. The management UI and documentation are a torture maze. Can't stop thinking about all the better ways I could have used two our hours of my life.

Elon Musk has recently talked about forming a third party in the US. Does anyone have an idea of what such a party would look like? I imagine it would be significantly different than the Republican Party.
I know a centrist gesture they could adopt as the party greeting.

We really need to do something about social security numbers. They've all been leaked and there's no way to put the cat back in the bag.
And when people use them fraudulent the bank can somehow hold YOU responsible? Total insanity.
As a European I'm dumbfounded how this issue alone isn't deciding elections in the US. Somehow everyone just accepted having their identity stolen every once in a while.
