Could you elaborate? I myself can only guess at what you mean by "diversity to security".

I can think of: 1. Develop software in the open. 2. Teach security and cryptography widely using openly-developed syllabus. 3. Encourage parallel initiatives.

I don't think you are referring to racial or gender or cultural diversity.

I assume they were referring to diversity of cell phones/mobile OSes, rather than the duopoly of Android and iOS.

What we call Yoga in the west is mostly appropriation. The rest is misunderstanding because the concept does not fit in thinking western minds.

The best we get is what tae bo is to professional boxing.

Source: conversations and experiences with someone who had the fortune to study both in New Delhi yoga university and with a Yoga lineage in the Himalayas.

The official university still didn’t touch, or know, of essential elements of the practices. Whether intentionally hidden or forgotten, they are completely unheard of in the West.

In the west we have Yoga laptops for heavens sake.

Yoga laptops are actually made by a Chinese company, which most people consider to be in the ‘east’. How does that fit into your idea of western appropriation?

Yes, and this is a serious problem. It seems to be one camp or the other, blind fear or blind approval, with little room for thought.

I honestly hate anti-vaxxers with incredible intensity now. Before they were an annoyance, now they have destroyed all intelligent discourse on this current topic.

For logical concerns, another example is an earlier, mouse brain derived Japanese encephalitis vaccine. Pulled, due to suspected prions causing brain swelling, and death. It should be noted that these effects were not seen until years after a peron received vaccination.

It does not matter that current vaccine $x does not "work that way", instead, it is well known that some vaccines will be troublesome.

This is not anti-vaxxer, I have all standard vaccinations, for they are tested, years of use behind them, safer than the alterative.

Yet it is so hard to find accurate info, everything is filled with crazy, emotionally based screaming and decision making, it's infuriating.

> but similarly it seems quite a stretch to assume that they were as dark as African peoples.

“African peoples” have a pretty broad range of pigmentation, and “black” isn’t used exclusively for African people, anyhow; e.g., indigenous Australians.

It's funny how White people use “black” with almost unlimited breadth right up until that challenges the original whiteness of territory they view as an ancestral homeland, and then immediately start demanding that the blackness be viewed maximally narrowly.

Couldn't find a better illustration of how race is a fluid social construct.

Fascinating that you singled out white people. The original poster could have any ethnic heritage, but you went with white. Why is that? It may be a good idea to interrogate your biases.
