I have moved from Dark Sky to Weather Strip: https://www.weatherstrip.app

It does a really nice job of showing me most of what Dark Sky showed, in a similarly easy-to-glance-at format once I spent a little time learning to read its graphs.

I think Carrot Weather has a lot of graphs directly ripped off from Dark Sky but the constant attempts to upsell me to a subscription plan while I was playing with it really turned me off, as did the "what political alignment would you like the sweary forecast to have" switch.

Nice thanks for the iOS rec. I've been a big fan of FlowX (https://flowx.io/) on Android which has had a similar graph/visualization with the addition of also having a radar view.

Agreed. What I want to know is: how did folks even discover these modifier shortcuts?

CNN has more numbers:

> In Moderna's trial, 15,000 study participants were given a placebo, which is a shot of saline that has no effect. Over several months, 90 of them developed Covid-19, with 11 developing severe forms of the disease.

> Another 15,000 participants were given the vaccine, and only five of them developed Covid-19. None of the five became severely ill.

Important caveat to keep in mind:

> The analysis was based on the first 95 to develop Covid-19 symptoms.

I’m always skeptical when I see counter studies to businesses that have a strong financial foothold on certain industries.

Case in point, did the meat industry have any weight in this study? Generally I feel through certain lobbying efforts theses types of industries will produce a counter study that gets enough backing to be read on the nightly news and now people go back to the way things were or are confused.

Having read the China Study, I have all the convincing I need about the role of meat in our diets and I’m fine with that.

Yep.

I love the idea, but the saturated fat seems a bit high for a plant based food?
dczot · 7 years ago
Yeah, plant-based and healthy are not necessarily the same. This at least free of cholesterol vs meat, but I think the main draw is the plant-based aspect rather than healthy.

"Cool" and "new" usually ends up meaning "expensive" and "proprietary" later on, especially if it's not standards conforming and tries to reinvent the wheel.

Interesting, what was cool and new about BART originally?

I was wondering if someone who is good at JS can compare this to BluePrint[1]?

Blueprint is meant for desktop applications. For example, Electron apps. You'll notice Blueprint tries to give that desktop app feel, versus Antd, which does not.
