Haven't met a programmer who likes the "vibe coding" terminology. It seems to be only popular among circles with no programming experience.
hi, lets meet. imo this is bad for the whole community to bad mouth vibe coding with such negative connotations, effectively gate keeping. vibe coding is like a car for people in the age of walking. sure you like to walk, want to keep walking, even enjoy walking, but there is no comparison with how far you will get if you start using a car. you still need to walk to your car and all effectively holds.
left-pad even being a package is pretty funny, no? How many bytes got pumped across CDNs, proxies, build pipelines, etc. just to write a tiny utility function? I'm all for taking advantage of existing solutions, but I can't wrap my head around needing to pad a string and thinking "oh, I bet there's a package for that"

I've been using this obscure tool called "documentation" for years now. It's this revolutionary concept where the people who created the software actually write down how it works!
Sometimes it even has examples showing how to use the software correctly.
I know it sounds too good to be true, but trust me once you discover documentation, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
It's fascinating that neither the article nor the comments here include a single mention of "stablecoins" which seems like the obvious solution to this problem.
What I find fascinating is that crypto bros keep coming back with "technically its solved by crypto" and never looking at the non-technical sides of why a business/solution exists.
