@realDonaldTrump on Mar 04, 2025, 7:30 AM: "All Federal Funding will STOP for any College, School, or University that allows illegal protests. Agitators will be imprisoned/or permanently sent back to the country from which they came. American students will be permanently expelled or, depending on on the crime, arrested. NO MASKS! Thank you for your attention to this matter." (https://archive.is/u7ISX)

Thus two messages for every other country:

1. Make nukes, never give up on those regardless of what assurances of safety you get

2. If you are bigger and stronger - you are right, do whatever you want, international laws and rules do not matter any more

Lets see where all this will bring the world to in the next 10 years or a generation.

There will be a world war within the next 3 years, not 10.

“ Sec. 7. Rules of Conduct Guiding Federal Employees’ Interpretation of the Law. The President and the Attorney General, subject to the President’s supervision and control, shall provide authoritative interpretations of law for the executive branch. The President and the Attorney General’s opinions on questions of law are controlling on all employees in the conduct of their official duties. No employee of the executive branch acting in their official capacity may advance an interpretation of the law as the position of the United States that contravenes the President or the Attorney General’s opinion on a matter of law, including but not limited to the issuance of regulations, guidance, and positions advanced in litigation, unless authorized to do so by the President or in writing by the Attorney General.”

This does not bode well for that country’s democracy.

(2011) Full title: Facing the Music or Burying Our Heads in the Sand?: Adaptive Emotion Regulation in Midlife and Late Life (the second part seems more important to the context of the paper)

Yes. However, given what we apparently are doing at hn, the first part is more relevant to the hn readers.

I have anecdotal evidence that at least a part of this is due to Musk's behaviour. My father is in charge of the car fleet for a large German company, and they have decided to exclude Tesla from their fleet because of Musk's recent behaviour. At the same time, they have also decided to go full electric for the entire fleet (no hybrid either).

For those who might not be up to date on that, parent refers to Musk's nazi salute: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/R_6dVlz6mug
