how sure are you that facial grouping data means the same thing to you as to MS lawyers?

all facial grouping data will be permanently removed within 30 days

No, but the scanning is happening on Microsoft servers, not locally, I am guessing.

So if you enable the feature, it sends your photos to MS to scan... If you turn it off, they delete that data, meaning if you turn it on again, they have to process the photos again. Every time you enable it, you are using server resources.

However, this should mean that they don't let you re-enable it after you turn it off 3 times, not that you can't turn it off if you have enabled it 3 times.

where does it say turning it off deletes the data? it doesn't even say that turning it off stops them scanning your photos. the option is "do you want to see the AI tags" Google search history is the same. Turning off or deleting history only affects your copy of the data.

Actually, most users probably don't understand, that this ridiculous policy is more effort to implement. They just blindly follow whatever MS prescribes and have long given up on making any sense of the digital world.

most people probably won't know MS is doing this at all until their data is leaked

To whom? I can imagine starting wars with fake videos.

It's hard to imagine someone kvetching about not being able to sideload apps to their phone reaching that point of significance. I don't mean to completely dismiss very real concerns about what people can and can't do with their purchases, but OTOH war involves actual people actually dying, and manipulating media is a fantastic way to get one.

removing methods to circumvent monitoring and control of information makes it easier for a bad actor to take advantave of these tools. Yes it's nice for the good guys to be able to keep their code secure, but do you want a dictator to be able to do that?

can you use css in the design tool? a designer needs to learn some way of specifying layout and interactivity so it might as well be css

We are commenting on a post where someone created a game that presents normal challenges everyone faces as if it was an "Autism Simulator".

It is exactly this kind of generalization that I'm referring to in my comment - "I think autism has become a tag for the shared experiences of things"

If anything, we are both equally frustrated by the fact that everyone who has experiences they consider "autistic" will happily jump on the bandwagon, despite the fact that it is a relatively small percentage of the population who has experiences that are sufficiently severe or unusual to warrant any kind of label at all.

Nobody likes high pitched noises, everyone is distracted and disorganized, everyone has trouble concentrating or feels overwhelmed when lots of things happen at once, taking lots of medication is hard on the body for everyone, socializing in unfamiliar settings or for long periods feels uncomfortable, interacting with coworkers is weird, many people get lost in the details of things, many people like to spend long periods focused on their interests, some people have really good memories for certain things, etc, etc, etc.

That doesn't make labeling yourself as autistic useful unless your experiences are preventing you from living the life you want to live, and even then, its only useful as a tool to find strategies of getting through that life, the label has no value in-itself.

Is this confirmation bias?

Do you think Autistics are a small group so you're finding a way to argue that?

Why do you care if a person you think has minor struggles labels themselves autistic?

No, you're just heavily implying it and minimizing it. I'm telling you it's extremely insulting. You can take that for what it is or don't, I don't really care.
bippihippi1 · 5 months ago
he's saying that the label Autism includes different traits that various people have or don't have. He's falsely using that semantic manipulation to imply that people use it as an excuse not to deal with the conplexities of life.

saying "that's insulting" doesn't impact his assertion. you have to meet their logic where it is to disagree. lucky this case was so easy.

democracy is the process of defining what the laws are and who enforces them. The executive branch is not allowed to decide what laws to enforce. That's what an autocracy is.
