After their recent change in tune to retain data for longer and to train on our data, I deleted my account.

Try to do that. There is no easy way to delete your account. You need to reach out to their support via email. Incredibly obnoxious dark pattern. I hate OpenAI, but everything with Anthropic also smells fishy.

We need more and better players. I hope that XAi will give them all some good competition, but I have my doubts.

X doesn't smell fishy to you??

The lede is being missed imo.

gpt-oss:20b is a top ten model (on MMLU (right behind Gemini-2.5-Pro) and I just ran it locally on my Macbook Air M3 from last year.

I've been experimenting with a lot of local models, both on my laptop and on my phone (Pixel 9 Pro), and I figured we'd be here in a year or two.

But no, we're here today. A basically frontier model, running for the cost of electricity (free with a rounding error) on my laptop. No $200/month subscription, no lakes being drained, etc.

I'm blown away.

Rush to get things out before the summer vacations? (Is that rush a thing in the US? It kinda is in the EU.)

we only get summer vacation while we're in school

If you also want to encourage biking, don't replace your asphalt with cobblestone. Maybe more speed bumbs and traffic slowing curves.

just pave the bike lane

I’m sorry what is happening with this paragraph:

> As long as the bank authorizations keep coming through, it will push on bug fixes until they're deployed in production, and then start scanning through the user logs to see how well it's doing.

I enjoy using these tools. They help me in my work. But the continual hype makes the discussion around them impossible to be genuine.

So I ask, genuinely, did I miss the configuration section where you can have it scan your logs for new errors and have it argue with you on PRs? Is he trying to say something else? Or is it just anthropomorphizing hype?

Yes it will, I wrote a quick script for local deployment (and then had claude improve it) and then quickly write documentation (and have claude improve it) on how to deploy & gather logs. It will do those things and follow the logs while I'm clicking around in the app. When starting a new session it will read the docs and know how to deploy and check logs. If something failed in the docker build that script output is read by claude since it ran it.

haven't tried PR stuff yet though

I have no specific info regarding this plant, but for anyone who never experienced this: flying in people from other plants at the starts (and all 3rd party vendors for a hypercare phase at launch) seems pretty normal.

If they have to keep staffing it that way, that's different.

Are those windows on top of the plane? Would seeing the empty sky above you be a good thing for passengers?
bakies · a year ago
Definitely want them closed on long-hauls, but would be nice for light on domestic flights... Could also wear eye covers I guess.

They actually solved that. Watch Mark Robers video at 13m50s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOWDNBu9DkU&t=830s

However this FAA approval is apparently for the Gen1 fixed wing plane (which is quieter than a drone anyway). Their Gen2 "drone" design is barely audible.

the same quiet propellers are on both drones
