We're extremely far from any of Yarvin's "plans" at any rate. Yarvin's most cherished plan was to create a shadow university called the "Antiversity" -- a sort of repository of all truths unbeholden to politics and fads. Is this a bad idea? Which other Yarvin ideas scare you so?
Yes. That is a twelve-year-olds idea of a smart idea.
I think that even as far back as 2009, an astute observer would have noticed that society is beginning to burn through its seed corn.
In some places, things are now getting extremely acute: https://www.neilobrien.co.uk/p/the-confluence?r=h8x
There's no way out but through, which means that politics are going to get extremely weird. Moldbug/Yarvin is one manifestation of this, and quite a benign and even harmless one. He's foppish and playful more than he is scary.
Demographic collapse? Sure, huge issue. But why is this happening? Why did it start happening before the other issues?
A rap group being critical of Churchill at an official event? Not really an issue. I don't think that is why Britain is failing. And I'll need citations for why moral introspection is demoralizing rather than uplifting and enlightening for a culture. Or maybe suggest something that the youth should feel good about rather than browbeating them for not being thrilled at the state of things.
Immigration? Not an issue for the USA after the great depression, which also had a massive welfare state.
I agree that Britain is collapsing, but not for those reasons. What a stunning lack of imagination.
e: Also, are migrants really to blame for Britain selling off all of its state capacity for pennies on the dollar since the 80s? Did migrants vote to violently eject Britain from the European economy in 2015? Any mention of that? Or would that type self-reflection hurt the cultural morale?
Maybe Britain would be better off with people who are a little less integrated with those values.
The tutorial has a much better Hello World + incremental feature introduction, I'd put some of that before the larger example.
Marco Rubio (head of the state department) stated that they refused to audited. So did other congressmen. https://x.com/cspan/status/1886473339201360210
Do you disagree with what he says in the above video? They denied to be audited. The US in USAID stands for United States. Can we not ask what they spend the money on?
USAID was not created by congress. It was created by executive order 10973 by JFK. It can be undone by executive order. It's function can be rolled into the state department.
Also, Congress codified it as an independent agency in 1998. So.. that last part isn't true either. This stuff isn't hard to look up.
If using an actual chassis the best way to go would be with a projector mounted as low as it can be to clear the top of the car, ideally onto a screen that is curved out from the driver's perspective.
“Eno,” the portrait of Brian Eno that opened the Sundance Film Festival today, is a documentary that mirrors the spirit of Eno’s music in its very form.
The director, Gary Hustwit (“Helvetica”), created it with generative software that allows the film to play in a different version every time you see it.
Sections of it will land in a different order, and some won’t appear at all (replaced by others); the movie is reshuffled each time with an element of the random.
How random? Well, it’s not as if the generative AI determines the order of everything.
How does the director acheive a bespoke per iteration viewing in a dedicated theatre (there are a number of means). Can this be reliably transferred to some "take home" experience that reliably captures the essence of what the director has done?
Is this just a markov chain of "shuffle" operations with transitions, can this be emulated with a .MKV file full of tracks and a modified player that can read embedded "next track" probabilities?
No Pussyfooting.
If this doc is screening in theaters I'd imagining different reels/files are sent to different theaters, or maybe more than one so they can rotate them.
As others have said DVDs are more than capable of this. A VLC plugin could work, and Netflix has some type of tech for their choose-your-own-adventure episode of Black Mirror for streaming.
