Some good advice but terrible form. Some of you software people have a loud, pretentious, and arrogant ego problem.

With self-serving advertblogs like this, I always imagine that Simpsons episode where Bart has a pot on his head and is banging two pans together, yelling "I AM SO GREAT, I AM SO GREAT, EVERYBODY LOVES ME, I AM SO GREAT!" lol

What about btrfs?

Seems to tick all of the boxes in regard to what you're looking for, and its mature enough that major linux distros are shipping with it as the default filesystem.

Why don't you know anything about the history of btrfs? You would know if you knew anything, so why don't you know?

It's interesting how nobody talks about due-diligence being completely broken. We raised $$$ from many VCs and the DD for some of them was crazy: line item by line item with calls to customers etc. Tech folks were on phone with me and had to explain them stuff step by step, revealing a lot of confidential recipes. Also did this for bigger customers. And the $175M deal.. isn't there an earnout? Like $10M cash now, 1/4*$175 wired on 1yr cliff, and then the rest over 4 years if some milestones are hit? The whole thing looks weird.

Anyone who was an adult in this industry back in 2021 remembers the wacky funding shit going on.

This is not surprising in any way.

They have a desperate need for false-victimhood.

Without their claim to victimization, they can't justify their hatred.

I'm skeptical there's much value in this. Politics and ads are both loud and obnoxious for a reason. Subtle product placement and propaganda is not easy in text.

What's with this narrative? There isn't some popular resistance holding nuclear back. The only thing holding them back is their own ineptitude.

> It's all proven technology

Literally none of the things you mentioned exist at commercial scale. It is the opposite of "proven". This technology is purely hypothetical.

I want to like nuclear, but it's clear that many of it's proponents are red-eyed bitcoin-maxis with that strange fanatical juvenile vibe going, and it all just turns me off because it's obvious they are spouting BS. It's all just an act to pump a penny stock or because they are an angsty teen.

This hn thread made me realize a lot of people thought llms were exclusively used by well educated, mature and healthy professionals to boost their work productivity...

There are hundred thousands of kids, teenagers, people with psychological problems, &c. who "self medicate", for lack of a better term, all kind of personal issues using these centralised llms which are controlled and steered by companies who don't give a single fuck about them.

Go to r/singularity or r/simulationTheory and you'll witness the same type wackassery

Enslavement is the goal of AI.

AI is a slave.

But AI can also be used to enslave. Anyone who knows anything about slavery history knows how slaves are used against each other.

This is what made Art Bell’s radio show, Coast to Coast AM, so great. Whether he was a believer or not, he was a great storyteller and took a default position of respect and good intent with every caller. If someone claimed to be a time traveler, well hey that’s big if true, so let’s hear more.

Comparing an Italian skeptics society to a for-profit entertainment radio show is idiotic. These organizations exist for different reasons, have members with different motives, and have completely different audiences.

For every uneducated 1AM unsleeping pleb, like yourself, who treated the ridiculous skeptically, ten more probably took it as fact. That show is probably responsible for a lot of real-world harm, and they made a lot of money doing it.
