SebFender commented on Why effort scales superlinearly with the perceived quality of creative work   markusstrasser.org/creati... · Posted by u/eatitraw

I appreciate this post as I think too many folks focus on the end before understanding what made it there. It's kind of asking what's the movie about before watching it or especially movie trailers that essentially shows way too much.

We should all take some time to better understand what brought us here to be better prepared for general creative work and uniqueness in the future...

lol you've 'talked' about switching. I'm really surprised that any startup would be on Teams in the first place. I get enterprises but for startups I would think other tools make more sense (Slack, etc...).

Well said.

Everything about cals is starting to get very boring - Standing walking etc makes for decent blood flow and so much more for your body - Stop focusing on cals and just bring some movement in your life.

I know and they couldn't do anything with it until the startups opened the way to freely use licensed data.

They actually knew exactly what to do but hey debated the outcomes - The rest were just desperate for attention and did whatever they could - very simple thought.

I don't think you realize this is temporary state for Google. Their overall plan called Google zero is to provide answers fully like LLMs and never link to any other website (zero links). This has been their long term goal since the moment it was clear that the industry will manage to avoid copyright legal issues by training LLMs.

Google had LLM's long before OpenAI did ...

Most of these automations get easily killed off - I suggest learning to go deep and focus.

Intel had been trading below its cumulative physical assets for a pretty long time.

This means the market believes they have a path to bankruptcy. Since markets are forward looking, how close it is to bankruptcy does not matter too much. In this case they needed money and the government provided a relatively low amount for a pretty significant stake in the company.

Well said and on point.

I'm not against governments helping out companies per se in different forms but the question remains "Why are they there and what's the impact if they fall?"

It's been done many times in the past decades from financial institutions, manufacturing, others and in different ways.

Remember Harley-Davidson and tarifs on imported motorcycles?

I think the real question becomes how will get done and for how long.

I had to do this today for a Universal Audio Apollo audio interface. Glad it’s on a dedicated machine.

A golden rule that has been very decent in the last decades - When my mom starts asking me "What's up with this tech" - it's most usually is a bubble ;)
