Well, I wouldn't say that the standards for (software) security were anywhere near as high as they are now. It makes sense that our requirements for things change.

Sure there are ways, but without regulation I struggle to see why should/would Apple ever bother. Nor do I think that a forced way would be held to the same standards as the rest.

But the Apple Watch can, and a lot of the same arguments apply to it as much as any third party watch.

CUPS is currently owned by apple, but they only bought it in 2007. It actually originated as an independent project by a company calles Easy Software Products.
This is more like a switch "pro", and I assume a switch 2 lite and such will follow.

You might be getting confused because the New 3DS (which was a hardware upgrade) mostly sold in XL version in the US. The non-XL model was sold mostly as limited special editions.

In the nicest possible way, it is pretty clear that this article was written by somebody who has only ever looked at video distribution as a hobbyist and not deploying it at scale to paying customers who quite reasonably get very upset at things not working reliably.
