So instead of a complete browser engine we get a basic engine and we need to write the complete on top of it?

Sounds like Wayland

I don't really care if it's called salmon or not, but why is that gross?
OsrsNeedsf2P · 6 days ago
It's gross because it's so misleading

I briefly got into breath holding. It's impressive how long you can go with simple techniques; slow stretches with lungs full of air, packing, and iterating animal names.

But I started to question the brain damage and couldn't find good science to confirm it either way.

You're welcome to use cryptocurrencies (we have a page for that), and our system only links your identity at connection time to ensure you have a valid subscription. Your traffic isn't tied to your identity, and you can look at the code to verify that.

Cryptocurrencies? Aka the least private form of transactions, where not only the sender and receiver know, but the whole block chain immutably stores for everyone else to view?

I'm calling it-- 5 years and this will be vaporware. We live in a world where you have to 1) compete with VISA, Mastercard and 2) compete with Bitcoin Lightning Network.
OsrsNeedsf2P · 11 days ago
I was an early adopter of the Bitcoin Lightning Network. If my memory serves correctly, I made one (real) payment with it. That was almost 10 years ago now, and I haven't even seen the chance to use it since.

This is what product market fit looks like; everyone is trashing various pieces of Zenobia, but it's still getting upvoted because we all want the solution.

I was dating someone and after a while I started to feel something was not going well. I exported all the chats timestamped from the very first one and asked a big SOTA LLM to analyze the chats deeply in two completely different contexts. One from my perspective, and another from his perspective. It shocked me that the LLM after a long analysis and dozen of pages, always favored and accepted the current "user" persona situation as the more correct one and "the other" as the incorrect one. Since then I learned not to trust them anymore. LLMs are over-fine tuned to be people pleasers, not truth seekers, not fact and evidence grounded assistants. Just need to run everything important in a double-blind way and mitigate this.

On the KDE side, Wayland has been going pretty well. Wayland sessions make up 82% of all sessions with telemetry enabled.

https://blogs.kde.org/2025/03/15/this-week-in-plasma-file-tr...

For me the real conundrum was SwayWM vs KDE Wayland rather than any X.org session; I really felt like SwayWM was a good upgrade from i3wm and gave me a better desktop session with much less hacks. Hope to see wlroots push forward and support some of the newer Wayland protocols, it has started to fall behind a little bit, but I think it's good for alternative desktops.

I run Wayland but I'm not happy about it. Most autoclickers still don't work, and autotypers need sudo and group magic to get working.
