I'm calling it-- 5 years and this will be vaporware. We live in a world where you have to 1) compete with VISA, Mastercard and 2) compete with Bitcoin Lightning Network.

There is one east of Seattle that gets used by wildlife quite a lot. When you're up there the interstate is very quiet due to all the earth between you and it, and they keep both sides of the crossing well wooded and obscured from view from the interstate. The animals figure out pretty quick where to cross.

That one's cool because animals can cross over or under https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cf5nMLrlgW4

How do you find a property like that? Is there a Zillow for cheap rural land?

I have another theory, actually.

I'm also a very old user, since the first days of the service, and I don't know how many saves I have it inside (will see when my export arrives).

The latest iteration's search was abysmal, and I normally refrain from using strong words. It failed to find exact matches from titles, the words or excerpts I know that exist in the article I'm searching for, and as a result, it became a FIFO basically. Unless you consume the list directly, hitting something you are looking for was nigh impossible.

After being berated by support to use the search "properly", I started to build my own app, a TUI tool to curate the list, but it was going slow. Honestly, I'm a bit relieved now since I'm free from developing that software, and I can dig the data in my own terms.

BTW, my export is just arrived, and it's a series of CSV files which has the usual suspects as columns. I can import this into a SQLite and dive the way I want.

One less thing to worry about, but this doesn't mean I'm not bitter about its demise, too.

Edit: It turns out I have ~37K saves. Whoa.

What was the theory!!! I had to read your comment twice looking for it, only to realize that there was no theory in there!

It's frustrating how sometimes my clicks on the black tiles go unhandled.

I used mixxx to DJ my brother's wedding. I think it was 2013 or 2014. The moment I got the signal to switch to a specific track for the bride's first dance with her Father, mixxx locked up my laptop. Guests were staring at me, one offered a hushed, "they're waiting!" Completely unresponsive, I had to hard reboot my locked up computer and boot back into Ubuntu. Then I opened VLC where I played the tracks for the rest of the evening. Probably not mixxx's fault, but I will never forget that moment.

Federal Express Flight 705 comes to mind, in which a crew member disabled the CVR by pulling it's circuit breaker before attempting to hijack the plane.
