Could you link to the Mod Summit your talking about? I wonder if 'sub transitions' is code for stealing subreddits from mods the admins don't politically agree with.

This is pure FUD and very dangerous. Firstly, you're talking about a different sub that what I linked to, grouping these together. The subs I linked are female led and moderated, at least BFHS.

Secondly, they also have large numbers of participants from a range of backgrounds with a range of motivations. The subreddits they are discussing tend to have 10s of 1000s of followers actively engaging in various levels of harassment, I doubt that's a single sock puppet.

Thirdly, do you have a source for anything you're claiming?

Finally, if what you're saying is true then someone is posting child pornography to Reddit. Regardless of his intentions we should be concerned about that.

DDG has been de-listing a ton of stuff recently. They recently de-listed rdrama, a reddit-trolling website that came up on HN last year. What, exactly, do they think people use them for? If I wanted "result curation" or whatever euphemism for censorship, I would just use Google.

Apparently the cat being overwritten here has been in use as a mascot by a group of folks who were banned from Reddit. So I'm not sure it's as simple as stating that admins wanted to control the board, there could have been some abuse going on that we don't know about.
