It's not a coincidence or a cartel, it's PR counterprogramming.

Agree 100%

If you look at the past, whenever Google announces something major, OpenAI almost always releases something as well.

People forget realize that OpenAI was started to compete with Google on AI.

I love Cursor, but it feels like a ticking time bomb with extensions not being updated at the same rate as VSCode.

Also another issue I am starting to see is the lack of shared MCP servers. If I have VSCode, Cursor, and Claude open, each one is running its own instance of the MCP server. You can imagine that with a dozen or so MCP's, the memory footprint becomes quite large for no reason.

A bad comparison. Fentanyl deaths are fully avoidable, heart diseases have existed forever.

They are also for the most part avoidable

Its really easy for them, and this also in line how they would operate:

Add a new Airtag v2 protocol to the next iPhone and sell new Airtags only using that protocol. Why should you buy them? They could have different improvements you would like.

Start deprecating Airtag v1 in 3-4 years - and only sell new ones. There are now 3-4 iPhone generations that can handle the new version.

The next iPhone in 6-7 years doesn't support Airtags v1 anymore as it is obsolete now for many years.

Voila, they killed Airtags v1 in less than 10 years without killing the entire product line by switching to a new version. Is that unrealistic? No, thats their normal way how they deprecate stuff. It still works but only with old hardware or by not getting new updates anymore (iOS, macOS).

I would agree with you if this was a main line product (iPad, Macs, iPhone). You could argue the Apple Watch is a main line product as well.

But this is an accessory line. Apple is pretty good at keeping accessories working for as long as possible. AirPods v1 still work. A Magic Mouse bought 10 years ago still works as long as the battery isn't dead.

I truly wonder can be done at this point if congress already passed it into law and judges have sided with congress.

At the minimum it would be nice if some actual concrete evidence came out to why it was banned. Not just more "It's a Chinese spying app that knows you like watching brainrot and its bad"

All tablets are dying. The pixel watch 3 has excellent reviews, what's botched about it ?

> All tablets are dying.

Highly disagree. The iPad line is very strong, especially in the artist community.

Pro: We won’t have to repurchase games.

Con: Assuming native compatibility, this likely won’t be a very exciting console.

BudaDude · 10 months ago
A beefier Switch is what everyone wants. The number 1 complaint I hear about it is how game X looks worse on it than the Xbox/PS version.

Hopefully Nintendo learned its lessons from the Wii U.

That's an oddly cherry-picked version of a pattern. There was no compatibility between the NES, SNES, N64, or GameCube. Wii and Wii U each supported their predecessor's games, but the Switch did not. Those 2 out of 7 were outliers
BudaDude · 10 months ago
You are forgetting the handheld line

Gameboy Color supported OG Gameboy games

GBA supported GBC games

DS supported GBA and(?) GBC games - Could be wrong about that

3DS supported DS games.

Tinder isn't exactly innocent in this.

Tinder isn't making money on people who match with people successfully and never come back to the app. The managers tweaking the algorithm know this.
