articles like this sound good until you realize that the grid often interconnects over multiple states. With pipeline infrastructure lacking. My guess is these gas plants are going to be built in states like Pennsylvania close to where gas is being produced. Easier to convert the shale gas into electricity closer to where it is produced.

I'm not sure I can explain anything related to the FDA (I'm European) but maybe I can shed some light on the insight what people are worried about.

These vaccines have been applied hundreds of million times in the past year, true. Therefore, we have a very good understanding of their adverse effects in the first 6-12 months. What we cannot know, however, are possible adverse effects that are longer term. Susceptibility to other diseases maybe due to a weakened immune system. Possibly a higher prevalence of autoimmune diseases.

If these vaccines were regular, inactivated virus vaccines, we could extrapolate long term effects from other similar vaccines. But this is brand new technology which affects our immune system, which is far from completely understood.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the JnJ vaccine use the old vaccine technology compared to the newer Mrna vaccines?

The truth though is that when the generous pandemic stimulus ends, the labor shortage will also end.

Robinhood is expected to go public (IPO) soon. What does everyone think of the company now? I was going to invest but now I'm having second thoughts on it. Seems like the brand has been permanently tarnished by this situation overall.
HNfriend234 commented on Modular Homes for Under $50k   boxabl.com/... · Posted by u/yehudabrick

I live in So cal and this is a super good idea. What many people don't know is that the cities have been big advocates for building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU). These are smaller homes that are basically built in people's backyards. It is seen as a way to increase housing units without doing any significant rezoning of traditional zoning.

I was looking on google maps satellite view and noticed that the vast majority of homes with large backyards do not have an ADU so the potential here for investment is pretty significant I would say.

We are also in a housing crisis and rents are soaring.

"hate speech" is essentially synonymous with "wrong think". Let's all keep that in mind.

Do you really want a consortium of oligarchs telling you what you can say?

HNfriend234 · 4 years ago
This law is simply guised as fighting "hate speech" but in practice it is designed to eliminate political enemies.

This is very upsetting. The liberal party is giving me reasons to regret voting for them, but I suppose we'll see if they can pass it in a minority government. If the NDP also back it along with the conservatives, I may have no political alignment left.
HNfriend234 · 4 years ago
My opinion is to abandon these "traditional" parties and go back to the fundamentals of what makes a society free and prosperous. Then vote based on that.

This is something that authoritarian regimes do to eliminate their political enemies through color of law. They create vague laws that only get applied to their political enemies.

Really unfortunate to see this is the path Canada has gone.

Conspiracy nuts and other unsavory members from fringe communities do make for odd bedfellows when one is being actively censored, thus why I am loathe to promote Bitchute et al. Best second alternative would be their own Peertube instance, but that of course requires them to put up their own infrastructure.
HNfriend234 · 4 years ago
The conspiracy nuts are crazy, I agree, but they are also opposed to oppression so they are our allies.

Be wary of the "divide and conquer" strategy when it is being used by oppressive regimes and various governments.
