Yeah the Apple bootloader and restore stuff scares the shit out of me. The network access requirement, firmware on SSD and hardware lock are always lurking waiting for the most inconvenient time to go wonky when I hose something.
Conversely windows, just got a USB stick in the drawer I can boot off.
As a lifelong Mac user, it just now hit me how inconvenient locked down the restore process is.

Because a large number of 401k plans are drawing upon stocks so that retired folk can live out their retirement.
The boomers are retiring, and they're the first major group to retire under 401(k) program. They will be selling stocks and bonds (and whatever else they've invested into) and are no longer buying stocks with their end-of-career top-level paychecks.
Does anyone have an actual breakdown of how much the younger generations are placing away in a 401k - if that's even possible?

RTS is such a great genre. I know everyone loved StarCraft but I enjoyed Warcraft II and 3 more… along with C&C, Red Alert and Age of Empires. Not sure why.
Warcraft 3 was a great balance between micro and macro management due to the Hero concept. SC always just felt like a game of numbers… but I am sure I just wasn’t as experienced.
Regardless I would love it if the genre stayed alive and I am glad Age is continually updated and stable.
Wow, I completely forgot about Red Alert. That game was a blast!

And here is why I love apple. I can either spend all the time attempting to investigate and fix the solution in a way the author did, or I can simply pick up the phone and let Apple do it for me.
I can't imagine the pain had this been Google.

I’ve been working remotely in wilderness areas of the U.S. in my RV, and it’s been great. I wouldn’t have attempted this without Starlink.
Have been thinking about moving to a more remote location in Colorado as the mountain town I’m currently in is pricing me out.
How reliable is the service?
