It feels Europe is becoming increasingly poor and unsafe, and the situation in the UK has worsened quite a bit since the start of Brexit.

Anecdotally, seems there's a lot of British and European expats here in the Valley and they don't seem too keen on returning. We've been getting a lot of international applicants (but work from home was supposed to mean Europeans could avoid moving to the "dangerous" US but work for American companies?).

You're correct, a lot of people in the UK want to leave

> You can see this shift even in the rise of the word “content” itself. From Ted Gioia’s article: “The banal word ‘content’ is used to describe every type of creative work, implying that artistry is generic and interchangeable.”

Just one of a number of things wrong with the overuse of this word. I can’t be the only one who gags everytime someone mentions “content” or worse, the phrase “consuming content” which is just gross and stupid

I don't get why folks find this depressing. If everything can be done by AI and robots - humans won't need to do "work" for all of our needs to be met. Ie, we can all go on perpetual holiday and/or work on things we truly love.

That's the endgame here. It's not like the robots can eat any of the food they'd be growing and delivering, nor would they need to live in the housing they build, or use the sewage systems they'll be maintaining. Etc.

That’s just not how this world works.
