I spent some time navigating through the linked page.

I don't doubt designers spent a lot of time researching it. It still reads like an incredible amount of carefully crafted bullshit.

The more the design of things "evolve", the more I appreciate designs that simply don't.

Well to be fair their research confirmed that half of 55+ year-olds didn't like the new design

I installed it. I really wanted to love it but it’s bad. It’s very busy and the proportions in the Settings app are awful. It’s on the “cozy” side of things (as opposed to “compact”). This means you see less options at one time on the screen and have to scroll more around the OS to get where you need to.

As for accessibility… It’s hell. Have a look: https://imgur.com/a/6ZTCStC

How does it look if you enable "Reduce Transparency" in Accessibility - Display settings?

I feel the same way about Google's design and development principles. What the fuck happened?

You mean how they heavily researched their latest redesign of Android? https://design.google/library/expressive-material-design-goo...

It behaves weirdly. I opened a Python file in PyCharm and asked Junie: "Tell me about this file". It then proceeds to do about 15 LLM calls, then ends up with a "git diff" and then "Done" (the implementation is error-free). What's the value add here?

You need to use Ask mode rather than Code mode in Junie, there is a toggle

It likely doesn't help the ObjC part of that story, but they moved the Swift part out into a CLion plugin https://plugins.jetbrains.com/plugin/8240-swift

Regrettably I didn't see that they did anything with the ObjC part, choosing to /dev/null it

Objective-C has been supported in Clion for years: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/clion/objective-c-c-support.h...

https://www.jetbrains.com/help/resharper-vscode/Get_started....

"Although the extension is intended and developed primary for Visual Studio Code, you can install ReSharper in other compatible IDEs, such as Cursor or Windsurf. It should work, and there are no restrictions on such usage."

you can download the .vsx.

Yeah, but I would need to do that every time it updates. Marketplaces are much more convenient for this reason.

Dead Comment

Why not publish it on https://open-vsx.org for Windsurf and other forks?
