This seems like a dramatic way to say you don’t want to pay to support Discord. I think individuals who actually live in a modern day caste system would be extremely offended by this comparison.

How will you prevent it from becoming another cesspool for bigots? Seems to be the fate for every Reddit alternative, like Voat.

Its already pretty close once you look at some of the top posts on there unfortunately.

Will he have to refund those lifetime members?

Smart on him for selling those…

14zadz · 3 years ago
He won’t have to and I wouldn’t request it either. The cost was fairly minimal for the amount of hours I’ve spent in Apollo. The only app that makes Reddit usable on iOS (RIP Alien Blue)

Zelle does not actually guarantee that your payments will go on the fast path. If you send a payment after-hours or to a new recipient that scores too high on some opaque fraud metric, it will be sent like a normal ACH with a few business days of processing time.

Sure there are some situations where it takes a bit longer. But I was responding to the statement saying there are NO immediate ways to send money in the US and that’s straight up not true because often enough Zelle does work, especially using it with existing contacts as I had said.

Also, Apple Pay is often immediate but has taken like 10 minutes as well so that could vary.

Too pricey due to natural disasters, pretty nuts. Sounds like premiums will creep up excessively if large companies aren’t biting interested in the market right now.

And reddit staff can reverse that immediately. I'd be amazed if they didn't prevent huge subreddits from going private altogether without someone from the staff giving the go ahead.
14zadz · 3 years ago
That’d piss off a lot of mods who moderate huge subreddits in their free time for Reddit…imagine if those mods got mad and decided to let inappropriate things through that drew negative media attention? Doubt Reddit wants that press when they want to IPO soon

In the USA there is no such thing as transferring money immediately between banks
14zadz · 3 years ago
Sure there is: Zelle.

Most major banks are apart of the Zelle program and you can send your contacts funds easily and quickly. I get notification of family sending me funds pretty much immediate with confirmation of deposit within a few minutes even for a few thousand.

Forget insurance, paypal terminates accounts on a whim.

I've not logged into my PayPal account in at least a year but got a termination notice for policy violation.

That's the real threat.

Meanwhile I’ve been trying to get them to close my account for over a year after they allowed fraud to occur and still tried to make me pay up even though my credit card deemed it fraud as well.

What it really means is that you accidentally went to www.reddit.com, and you should have gone to old.reddit.com.
14zadz · 3 years ago
Only a matter of time until old.Reddit goes away too
