You ate the “save the children” koolaid.

Children can also be groomed over text messages, should we let the government read all our text messages now?

Children can also be depicted wrong in photos, should we let the governments of the world have access to our photos so they can check for themselves if that is happening or not?

(both are hypothetical questions, the answer is no of course not. This is the responsibility of the caretaker in their life to guide them safely through the world.)

I also remind people that laws change over time and that perfect crime prevention is actually a bad thing. The easiest example one can point to homosexuality. We now accept that people attracted to the same sex. But at one point in time in many places that was illegal. The last person in Canada to go to jail for being gay was in 1965, charged with gross indecency. But times and morals change so imagine if we had perfect police and everyone had to wear a camera at all times and every single thing you did was monitored and reported back to the police. No gays, no abortions, no alcohol, no speaking against governments or police, so many ways we would be oppressed. I am not saying people who harm children should free to break the law but the solution can not be to monitor everything every person does. The solution for me would be to teach people how to better set parental controls for their kids and to educate both parents and kids about dangers and online safety.

Yeah, I remember finding a good supply of Verbatim DVD+/-Rs and +RWs, and iirc the -Rs seemed to work better for my particular stock internal optical drive, and a slow burn speed was key. Once I got FTP setup to my desktop and sorted out the FATX situation, I upgraded my internal HDD and didn't really mess with disc-based backups for 360 as it didn't seem worth the hassle once I got it ironed out, which I'll admit was a decently complex project involving hot-swapping, but not much more complicated than the initial drive firmware flash. They're fun machines to mod, especially as I had just finished an OG Xbox softmod project at the time (~2007).

Edit:

This might be relevant to your interests, and to others interested in 360 modding.

> Bad Update is a non-persistent software only hypervisor exploit for Xbox 360 that works on the latest (17559) software version. This repository contains the exploit files that can be used on an Xbox 360 console to run unsigned code.

Addendum:

Modern Vintage Gamer's video of the exploit, which is amazing to see. I had no idea 360 softmods were a thing, and the exploit can run against a free trial version of a retail game, which is just chef's kiss.

> A look a the newest V1.2 Badupdate Exploit - Xbox 360 software only Hypervisor Hack that we covered back in March 2025. It requires an Xbox 360 - any model including the later Winchester revisions! A USB flash drive and Rock Band Blitz Trial. This updated 1.2 hack runs much faster and reliable and is now a recommended option to hack any Xbox 360. In today's episode we take a closer look at the BadUpdate V1.2 exploit.

Oh I didn't see your comment right away. Yes I did hear about the mod you mention but what I actually did years ago was the Reset Glitch Hack (RGH) on mine and several other 360's. It required soldering in a tiny piece of hardware which required you to solder to the smallest of pads on the motherboard. I remember at the time I had the cheapest junk soldering iron and nothing to help magnify the board and the pad you need to connect a wire to is literally smaller then a pen tip. Many people screwed up and lifted pads causing big problems for their 360. I had some previous experience soldering and managed to have no problems with the install.

In the end my RGH worked really well and it would boot first try every time, some people it could take like a minute to actually boot. Then it would load into custom firmware and I was able to do what ever I wanted. I still have the thing and it still runs with an external HDD with about 1000 games (all personal back ups of course) and my kids never knew how lucky they were to be allowed to play all my games I had backed up.

This seems far fetched. A more plausible explanation is that your dad is just aging and personality changes are very normal. You could go see him in person or find a way to engage in a video call and ask him if it was him the other day when you spoke to him.

Another comment from me, have been curious about voice cloning for a while just to troll some friends. Checked out your site. I have to say I was not overly impressed. You describe it as nearly indistinguishable from the original. Ya some of the samples you have are close but then they have serious issues with speech cadence. Like when saying AI they say A, then there is a pause then say I. It sounds very unnatural. It didn't do that pause with all samples however just some.

Next though some samples sounded pretty close listening to the MrBeast sample it sounded nothing like him at all. He has such a recognizable voice there is no way I would ever believe I was listening to him with that sample. I might try the free option with some of my friends voices and see what I think but for the paid price I would be hesitant.

Lastly who do you think is using this service and for what reason? This is a genuine question. I wanted to troll some friends with a voice clone but would not have such a need that I would want to do a monthly subscription maybe make a few audio recordings and joke around a bit. So I am curious what do you think the main use of your paid version is being used for? I have heard some scammers are now using cloned voices to trick people into scams do you think your service is being used for that?

No judgement just curious what you think and being honest with feedback on how I felt about your site. Cheers

I think you paid $200 a month and that is a very serious price point for a subscription. For that much I think it is fair to use as much capacity of a service within the terms of the agreement. If the company did not plan for power users then they are to blame. Maybe they will need to reconsider the terms of their plan. I don't think you did anything wrong. You are paying them a lot and utilizing their service fully. Forget what reddit thinks mostly a bunch of kids giving advice on things they have no experience with.

I don't even like Hyundai.

What's "unrealistic and childish" is expecting free labour.

Well if your car had a seat belt defect and people were dying you know they absolutely would recall the car and pay for the defect.

The defect that allows the car to be stolen in seconds is absolutely a serious problem. I hope Hyundai changes course and decides to provide it for free. We have already seen reports of the trend where people were stealing Hyundai/Kia vehicles and going on joy rides driving extremely dangerously. This has lead to deaths in several instances. So they have a flaw that has lead to people dying. IANAL but I would say leaving this flaw unpatched may even leave them liable if anyone else were to be hurt. As a recent example of something similar is the Sig Sauer P320. They are in the middle of fighting some lawsuits over their faulty product. So it would not be a far stretch if Hyundai/Kia were held responsible for a know flaw in their product.

Anyways it is just my opinion that they should just eat the cost to provide this for free as a show of standing behind their product. Just seems like such bad PR to now make people pay.

What brand/model of discs had high failure rates?

I've yet to lose any data after validating a good burn on any M-DISC DVD even well over a decade now. I have also not experienced any loss in data for Verbatim Blu-rays after validating the burn.

14 · 16 days ago
I remember back when I was making xbox 360 back ups buying a cheap dvd just would not work most of the time getting to many errors. I think it was the Verbatim brand also burned at a slow speed that seemed to be the most successful. My thought with that is that being cheap to save a few bucks on on discs might cost you your data. Buy the trusted brands who have a proven track record.

I wonder if it would still happen if you added a "-" after the t in the youtube link. So if it was youtube.com/somevideo you would change it to yout-ube.com/somevideo. This will remove ads and comments I wonder if it would fix your issue.

not in number of subscribers - they know the channel already, but in quality of content and production values. I think that's what OP meant.

F9 could get 2M subscribers by just doing product reviews because they're an ecommerce website in Canada like Revzilla is in the US, and that Youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/RevZilla) has 1.5m subscribers.

F9 has a few product reviews, but they have a ton of just top quality content that shines for not just the motorcycle content, but how its presented, the attention to filming and editing, etc.

Oh and if you're interested, they even have a video about cheese (it was an april fool's prank, but still informative about cheese).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1T7NzCtWHo

Yes you are right his content is well done. By hidden gem yes he has millions of subscribers but for some reason many riders I have asked about him have never heard about him. I just got the sense that some how a lot of people have never heard of him and I think he deserves some recognition for his content.

FortNine is a hidden gem of a YouTuber. Many of his videos are just showing his passion for riding and interesting facts like "different ways to mount a motorcycle" and are entertaining to watch him climb up the back tire and hop onto the bike. But then some of the videos are actually highly educational and he incorporates tested science and studies and explains why things are they way they are like the science of different leaning styles while riding and their science.

The video that has always stuck with me is when he explained the science behind how motorcycles are hard to gauge their speed and distance and related it to how pigeons see. It showed me that a lot of why drivers have a tendency to pull out and cut off riders is more to do with not being aware that it can be very difficult to calculate the distance and speed of a motorcycle the same as we do with a car. With that knowledge as a rider I have actually changed my driving and really make sure I fully check both directions before pulling out. I also, as a rider, pay attention to side roads and driveways and always assume the car is going to pull out. I have never almost pulled in front of a rider but I can say I have many times avoided cars by riding defensively.
