I am a data engineer and a broadly skilled generalist senior developer - and in the past, a bioinformatician.
Bio summary: After a graduating with a maths degree in 2014 and an early career role in finance, I found my path to data engineering in bioinformatics in 2016, initially as a full stack developer in a research institute and then taking on increasingly data focused work. I worked in life sciences for many years, until in 2023 I joined a healthcare startup, which for an exciting year and a half was a great opportunity to experiment with 'modern practice' like Databricks and integrating LLMs. Looking for new opportunities to engage in meaningful work.
From my bioinformatics and data engineer experience, I'm good at interfacing with researchers and turning ideas and prototypes into working products: developing data flow workflows, evaluating performance of models, providing interfaces and entry points for clients, and more.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of contributing to significant projects in academic, commercial, and non-profit settings. If my profile or any of the technologies listed resonate with you, feel free to reach out via email!
Remote: On-site, Hybrid, or Remote
Willing to relocate: Yes
Technologies: Jira, Confluence, Git/GitHub, SCRUM, PostgreSQL, Linux, Postman, Bash.
I have also used Python, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, and HTML/CSS but I would call myself an "advanced beginner".

I am interested in switching from my current role as a QA Tester to a job as a junior Web Developer.
My day-to-day covers:
1. Performing unit and E2E tests.
2. Having intimate knowledge of in-house products made for client services (xyz as a service)
3. Reviewing and approving code changes (JS, TS, Rust, Python, C#, and HCL)
4. Filing bug reports during tests
5. Effective communication with: devs, clients, and end users on an ongoing basis
6. Attend and prese at: stand ups, demos, sprints, etc.
I have worked in QA for 3 years, and more broadly in IT for 14 years. In that time I have done everything from building networks in rugged environments, to help desk, to enterprise patch management, to cybersecurity, to ITAM.

I spent the last year building the entire stack for a hardware deeptech recent YC grad - backend, frontend, PCBs, firmware, infra, etc, as a one man dev team. I'm looking for somewhere with experienced hackers to learn from and somewhere I can wear a lot of hats. Prefer hardware (especially robotics - just built myself a robot arm to dive into it) but open to any hard + fun problems!
I'm actively seeking full-time or part-time opportunities, plus I have experience in both established companies and early-stage startups. Even if it's for an early stage startup I'm flexible with discussing a reasonable hourly salary.
I'm open to a lot of different industries, and some areas that I'm particularly interested in developing for include health care, travel, hospitality, ed tech, clean tech, game dev, and anything VR or AR related.
I want to move into machine learning and AI, ideally HPC and/or scientific/research computing. My plan is to move into MLOps, then move from there into HPC, and my longterm goal (5-10 years) is to move into deep tech research and possibly get my PhD in CS or math (somewhere in the area of topology/manifolds if the latter).
I recently had a come-to-$DEITY moment and I'm taking a week off work to do a deep-dive on Slurm and as many other topics as I can cram into each day. I'm new in this space and I have a lot to learn, but I'm really ambitious and looking for a place that won't slow me down.

Hi, I'm Igor. I have 8+ years of experience as a software engineer and technology-oriented China specialist. Based in Switzerland. Recently, I have designed and implemented a large part of internal production systems at $CMPR, built in AWS. Side focus on security.
I've been engaged with China since 2015. In 2020, I've started a degree in Chinese Studies at the University of Zürich. I've just finished a scholarship at the BFSU, the best language university in China. In 2024, I have interpreted between Polish, English and Mandarin Chinese for the Polish Trade & Investment Agency at the Polish-Chinese Economic Forum in Shanghai (see pics on LinkedIn). I also keep tabs on technology and Chinese cybersecurity laws through Chinese sources.
