This makes sense. For those that aren't aware, nuclear power plants are slow to respond to changes in demand, so it is common for them to make deals with large users to burn off excess capacity. So this is a semi-productive way of performing this feat rather than doing something like lighting an empty stadium.

However, I can't help but think a better use of these funds would be to purchase battery storage. But I can see why they'd pursue additional revenue generation instead.
