So who is going to be the first to merge street data with a driving sim so I can race around familiar streets at my wont?

Of course it’ll eventually lead to GTA VR ugh but I can at least get what I want…blasting a Jesko on the Dallas north tollway at full chat

Unfortunately, those are considered censorship nowadays.

Only by toxic escalators.

Leaving your phone charged for extended amount of time like this is really bad though. The battery will swell (fire hazzard), it's just a matter of time when. Sometimes you're lucky and it took a year or more for the battery to swell, sometimes it swells just after a few month. The compromise is probably put the phone in a fireproof surface instead of a drawer.

Wait, what? Aren't batteries and chargers smart nowadays? I thought they automatically care about battery health no matter what the user does (apart from deep discharging of course)!

I'm pretty sure the people leaving Twitter right now are in favor of censorship.
yaddaor · 3 years ago
Probably not censorship but rather reasonable moderation and civility.

Every reporter I have ever met (and this especially includes those that went to j-school) at this point just regurgitates press releases or is too scared to bite the hand (or the hands of the golfing buddies, or the advertisers) that signs their paychecks.
yaddaor · 3 years ago
Weird, my experience is the opposite. All journalists I met in person and spoke to have been critical towards anything in any way reasonable. Including their bosses and institutions. It's a merit of journalism for introspection to be normal and wanted.

The far left extremists on Twitter are still there, spreading hate, and never got banned.

Why so much attention to the far-right?

yaddaor · 3 years ago
Left and right are useless categories, trying to compare them is moot.

If other people are making money off of your hard work... stop rewarding them with free work.

But it's nauseatingly entitled to just expect people to pay a person for their hobby. Pick a different hobby if it upsets you? There are other things a person can do with their time.

yaddaor · 3 years ago
If it is nauseating to you, just ignore them. Pick a different hobby that's not complaining about other people's struggles it upsets you.

You made a good point for asking for money instead of providing free work by the way.

How entitled do you have to be to expect other people to fund your hobby?

It's a hobby, not a job. If it's becoming too much of a distraction - just...stop doing it?

yaddaor · 3 years ago
When other people rely on your hobby it can be hard to just walk away. There is pride, dedication and the feeling of providing value in FOSS. But if others make tremendous amounts of money based on your unpaid work, and show entitlement to its benefits and free support or development, it is hard not not feel a tiny bit entitled for compensation.

Where do you see the anger in my message? I thought that the "stroke" part made it clear that my comment was facetious.
yaddaor · 3 years ago
"Reading what they wrote made me feel I was having a stroke" is kind of an unnecessary exaggeration. But yeah, my comment was as well. Fistbump!

This is how you end up with a search engine for pay-walled sites
yaddaor · 3 years ago
Or how you end up with a search engine for passion projects, open-source projects, community hosted sites and more.
