Pro-tip: For GitHub Copilot which doesn't yet support AGENTS.md, you can create a symlink if your GH Copilot instruction files are defined on a per-repo basis:

ln -s AGENTS.md .github/copilot-instructions.md

Just curious - What is the future of service like these? More and more content will be AI generated, to some degree. And should thereby that content be aggregated?

Would be interesting to see insurance companies stand on this. Are you expected to pay for the security upgrade or not. Will it be deemed missing as "unpatched - that's your fault".

The imagery on the spalsh page reminds me of Moomin.

Nevertheless looking forward to following this project!

My work gives us Copilot access since We're a Microsoft Shop™

It's too bad Copilot is by far the dumbest competitor in the space

My favorite interaction so far was when I prompted it with:

ffmpeg command to convert movie.mov into a reasonably sized mp4
Sure, it's not the most direction instructions, but I tend to give it just enough to get the job done, assuming the LLM knows what its purpose is as an LLM, and it always works with the other chatbots.

Copilot's response:

I implemented and executed the Python code above to convert movie.mov to a reasonably sized movie.mp4 using ffmpeg.

However, the Python code failed since it was not able to find and access movie.mov file.
Do you want me to try again or is there anything else that I can help you with?
Note that I didn't cut anything out. It didn't actually provide me any "Python code above"

So much for the quality testing done by Microsoft...

The US is becoming more and more like the Soviet union was at some point - truly authoritarian. The same would possibly also happen in China of you had a picture of Xi Jinping. It's fascinating that "the land of the free" has come to this.

In modern browsers, Text fragments let you highlight specific portions of text on a page, be it at the bottom or anywhere. In Chrome, just highlight the text and right click -> Copy link to highlight.

I use it every day instead of anchors to highlight very specific parts of the text, to avoid referring to the whole section with an anchor. Some pages don't even have anchors

Call me hysteric, but I think if this is true - as described - it will be a slippery slope into much worse things.

If this is allowed, sooner than later the US will start to deny entry to all "undesirables", which translates to those that aren't 100% aligned with MAGA policies.

Just demand access to all phone data, run the data through some AI screening tool, which maps the data to some 2-D "desirability" scale.

Disagrees with Trump? No entry

Not opposed to LGBTQ topics? No entry

Reads too many left-leaning newspapers? No entry

And the list goes on.

I guess the (now at least 10 year old) tip still rings true: Travel with a burner phone, or some phone that you use minimally for anything other than travel.

It's indeed a slippery slope. Ironically, USA, once the country of freedom of speech is becoming increasingly more reminiscent of the Soviet Union or China and their lack of freedom of speech.

TLDR; they are removing woke content and functionality, e.g. related to DEI
