With good realtors you sign a document that states that they work for only you.

Of course there can be other issues, like the realtor "helpfully" setting up the appraisal with their own company, the one that just happens not to notice any major issues with the sale.

I also think that the convention of the the realtor taking a percentage of the sale as their commission is problematic as it incentivizes them to show you the most expensive houses instead of the ones that are best for you. I'd be happier if they charged a flat fee or a flat hourly rate.

>commission is problematic as it incentivizes them to show you the most expensive houses

Don't know everyone's experience but Realtors show whatever house the client wants to visit and clients can and do find houses for them selves.

>flat fee or a flat hourly rate

Does the client still pay this flat fee/hourly rate if they don't buy or sell the home? I'm sure a realtor would have no problem showing you up to X homes for $Y,000 paid upfront.

> I think we need Big Teams for Small Stuff precisely _because_ of these 'modern development practices' that you mention.

Perhaps. But what I've also seen is the head count of a given project is a direct reflection of the intra-org status of the person heading the project.

There's a belief - that's a myth - that if 3 ppl is good the 6 is twice as good and time will be cut in half. I think we also know - with rare exception - that productivity slides as heads increase.

That's a given.

Then there's also a belief - again a myth - that some mod dev practices can fix the increased head count issue. It might mitigate it here and there. But MDP can only do so much to fix a dysfunctional org/group.

Ultimately it's a leadership/management issue. Process and technology are too often lipstick on a pig.

> that if 3 ppl is good the 6 is twice as good

This 6 person development team is promoted by the Agile Industry. They say 6 people is a sweet spot, so that if someone goes on vacation then some other developer can "cover" them.

This is a straight up propaganda from Christian organizations I grew up reading in India.

Very simply put, the concepts of Good and Evil in Christianity is not externalized in Hindu philosophy and instead explained through the principle of cause and effect known as Karma. Hinduism views suffering is an integral part of life. Selfish desire causes suffering, controlling your senses lets you achieve selflessness and eventual liberation from the cycle of suffering. All this "suffering" refers to your mental state, not the material reality such as wealth and status.

There is apathy, but IMO it's mostly due to desensitization by how much of it is out there and constantly having to watch your back from some people willing to take advantage of you the moment they notice how charitable you are.

Christianity does not teach reincarnation.

The national shortage of truck drivers in America does not support your argument. I heard from someone at 160 Driving Academy that you can make six figures with a CDL and the trucking companies will pay you to get one.

That's not even as hard on the body as other physical jobs. It is not a well regarded and the community of peers you interact with means that it isn't a very desirable job.

It is possible to make 6 figures driving a truck but not very likely.

Honestly if this guy was able to bring in business he will be an asset to whatever company he goes to and can probably negotiate a golden parachute of some sort.

Would like a public test account to play around with it. Don't feel like signing up.

Do you have a source for this?

I'm sorry, but this reads like astroturfing. I don't think it is, but it 100% feels that way.

And, from what I can see, Tidal is a service owned by phenomenally rich artists who have been the best compensated by the existing record label structure (at the expense of indie artists), trying to throw their weight around and maintain their power in streaming as well. While fraudulently depriving other artists of revenue from Tidal, if this article is correct.

wehadfun · 8 years ago
Astroturfing accusation? Really? People profess their love or hate for things all the time. There is a comment below talking about how great Spotify is are you going to accuse it of Astroturfing as well?

Anyway if you simply Google which streaming platforms pay artist the most Tidal tops the list all the time.

I plan to switch to Tidal. They pay artist the most. Only the top, top artist are making money on Spotify. I like to listen to indie/small label bands. I don't buy albums, go to concerts. Tidal seems to be the best way to support these artist.
