Too bad you can't get it until you're over 50 or immunocompromised.

I'm 42 in Canada and just got the first shot yesterday. Doctor prescribed it because I'm getting psoriasis and I guess that puts you at a higher risk of developing shingles. With the prescription, it was fully covered.
uxjw commented on uBlock Origin Lite in Apple App Store   apps.apple.com/in/app/ubl... · Posted by u/mumber_typhoon

I’ve been using uBlock Origin Lite on iOS for several months now, but one shortcoming I see with the newer WebExtensions implementation in Safari is that WebExtensions can’t be used with the in-app Safari views, meaning extensions such as this one don’t work with in-app Safari views. There was an older Safari content blocker API that did work with the in-app Safari views, but it seems like apps are being updated to stop using it. As a workaround, I’ve been trying to set my apps to open the Safari app for links where possible, but I would have preferred to use the in-app Safari views.

Meta uses the in app browsers to inject trackers on every site you visit. https://krausefx.com//blog/ios-privacy-instagram-and-faceboo...

Probably others doing the same. I always open pages in full safari and use NextDns to block trackers in all apps.

If you try to do that on a site with Cloudflare, what happens? Do they read the zip file and try to cache the uncompressed content to serve it with the best compression algorithm for a given client, or do they cache the compressed file and serve it "as is"?

Cloudflare has free AI Labyrinths if your goal is to target AI. The bots follow hidden links to a maze of unrelated content, and Cloudflare uses this to identify bots. https://blog.cloudflare.com/ai-labyrinth/

In a similar way: Why was there no Windows 9? [1]

TL;DR: Some code looking for Windows 95 or 98 only looked for "Windows 9" to match both, and would have matched Windows 9.

Now Apple has the year in the OS version we'll have people wondering in a few years what happened to iOS 19-25.

uxjw commented on The truth about soft plastic recycling points at supermarkets   everydayplastic.org/softp... · Posted by u/Kaibeezy

I didn’t see anyone else bring this up here, but the real issue with plastic recycling is twofold: it is a dead end and recycled plastics shed microplastics like crazy. Other materials, like aluminum, can effectively be infinitely recycled, but plastic cannot; recycled plastic is worse than virgin plastic in every way. It also destroys the environment around us, because recycled plastics are effectively really shitty plastics that shed everywhere.

In short, plastic recycling is a fraud perpetuated by greenwashing initiatives. The only proper thing to do with old plastic is to incinerate it at high temperatures that achieve complete combustion. This is rare though; most plastic is burned at low enough temperatures that it causes pollution.

Great stuff, plastic, huh?

Even if you buy aluminium cans, there's a thin layer of plastic lining to prevent reactions with the metal. I've also noticed lots of paper/cardboard packaging have a plastic coating.

At least the idea of a spherical model for sheep is quite useful. Spherical cows have been alone for so long.

They have had spherical chickens in a vacuum
