Ruby is my favorite language. There is no other language with same ergonomics. I dont understand hype around ts and all frameworks that changes every week.

I made something similar to n8n. its not visual but it helps you automate things. https://rapidforge.io/. Despite they are visual they also have learning curve. I think most of these tools are great but I feel they are overvalued. Its my take I might be wrong.

I used htmx for my side project https://rapidforge.io/ along with Golang. I don't think you even need templ but its personal preference at this stage. I was suprised how fast I was able to finish front end work. Only part I use React was for drag and drop editor.

You can check https://stormkit.io though it does not have free tier.

We've made a starter template with minimal dependencies available at https://github.com/stormkit-io/monorepo-template-react. Instead of opting for frameworks like next.js, you have the flexibility to use this template, which is platform-agnostic.We have another template built with htmx, outlined in detail at https://stormkit.io/blog/building-dynamic-web-applications-w.... You can find the corresponding template at https://github.com/stormkit-io/vite-handlerbar-htmx. I mainy work with Ruby and Go. I have some Nodejs projects like discord bot and whenever I update my dependencies something breaks. I find that managing dependencies in ruby and go is comparatively smoother for me.

40 dollars for hosting your frontend is bit much you might want to check other alternatives like https://www.stormkit.io they allow you to deploy other cdns as well. Or use something like github pages.

Isn't next.js too big to fail? Currently we are trying to define a modern stack for our front-end, and I always thought next.js/react to be the next java -> Perhaps Solid.js is much better (IMHO it surely is) but I probably won't get fired for choosing next.

If not, what would be the alternative? I really don't want to restart with the hassle of configuring a js project from scratch. Done it already a thousand times, and that's a thousand times too many :)

there is alternative for vercel though they don't have storage service they are pretty decent and they don't rely on VC money. https://www.stormkit.io/
