>It turns out that when elections are fought on the basis of identity (race, religion) etc corruption is actually considered a benefit! This is because the loyalists interpret this as "we" are winning and "they" are losing.

So how could one design a political system so this behavior doesn't emerge / is not incentivized?

How about not creating a precarious underclass with lack of (higher) education that is ready to vote for whatever solution promising to take down the system that made them so desperate for radical change?

Uncanny as always. What do people use these for? Except for flooding Meta platforms with slop, that is...

The adblockers still work on Chrome though.

Pretty sure people are figuring out to switch to uBlock Origin Lite and ads -- including on YouTube -- are still being blocked just fine.

No, it was clearly an attempt to court Trump, unfortunately 'not enough ass kissing, yet' according to the trump team.

Both. Clearly both.

Care to elaborate?

> Especially ironic this article is from 2020 when M1 was launched and now laptops, both Qualcomm and Apple ones, are leaps and bounds better than before.

Something tells me you haven't quite grasped the blog post or what LOW←TECH MAGAZINE is about. https://permacomputing.net

"state" is area where government is able to collect taxes and respected by other governments. Thus "communist state" is not oxymoron.
unicornporn · 8 months ago
I don't understand your point.

> A communist society would entail the absence of private property and social classes, and ultimately money and the state (or nation state).[1]

In theory, communism is the opposite - the stated goal of Lenin was a state that would wither away as people moved to voluntary self-government.

In practice, it turns into authoritarianism very different from the idealized goal.

Yes. "A communist state" is an oxymoron. Communism is by definition stateless. Government/governance, sure, but without a state. Rojava would probably be a better example of communism (in practice) than Soviet.
