This seems like a very strange take on 174. The author seems to be saying that all developer expenses can be expensed under old 174, but that’s not true (under my reading). My take was that exclusively research and development - where you are unsure of the outcome - is eligible under old 174.

Notice the analysis of big companies and their tax bills. Author notes that Google only expensed software development expenses until the software met some qualification threshold. After that, it’s not research anymore.

What am I missing?

From what I understand a lot could be classified as R&D. More than one would think.

Yes, I have, throwaway5959. That's exactly what happened if you read his previous testimony. This has nothing to do with politics.

My quote wasn’t in the testimony, Jimmc414. As I said; there was plenty of editorializing in this joke of a report.

Weirdly two other Japanese automakers, Mazda and Honda, said the same thing: that they had been testing improperly. Maybe this was brought up by some changes at the regulatory body?

“Testing improperly”, well that’s one way to frame it.

Not enough people realise you can spin up a cheap Hetzner instance, install Navidrome and use that as very functional Spotify-like experience. Bring in your music you've got on a USB, Bandcamp and others in one place.

Then you get to pick a player that works best for you, I use Feishin which you'll find familiar if you're a Spotify user.

I know I'm pulling a Dropbox with "just spin up Navidrome" but if you've got an afternoon to get it going, you can save yourself a lot of cash with price hikes to pay for AI DJs.

The time spent setting all that up would be equivalent to years of Spotify subscriptions and would have way less content.

Please explain. This page is a link to the actual testimony.

Have you even read it?

“Dr. Fauci repeatedly played semantics with the definition of “gain-of-function” research in an effort to avoid conceding that the NIH’s funded this dangerous research in China”

There is so much BS editorializing here. Also is there any research that shows that masking actually impaired learning? I didn’t see any listed, just claims that there were studies.

From your link:

>Richard Hanania is an American political science researcher and right-wing political commentator

Being a partisan "commentator" automatically makes you a "propagandist" now?

In America? Have you been paying any attention to how insane the American right has become? We’re about to have a dude who fucks porn stars as President. Again. Oh and an insurrectionist.

I am glad that Anduril was able to ride into prominence in an industry where old players had lots of lobbying capital/power.

It says a lot about how ridiculously fat that industry is. It’s where young mostly white guys go to retire.

We saw Furiosa in IMAX. It was amazing. It was also $45 for two tickets. Concessions were a bit more than that.

Hollywood: Most families don’t have $100-200 to throw down on a single movie.
