> Hey! I asked AI for this code, do you think this will work? I think you should use it.

unfortunately this problem preceeds AI, and has been worsened by it.

i've seen instances of one-file, in-memory hashmap proof-of-concept implementations been requested to be integrated in semi-large evolving codebases with "it took me 1 day to build this, how long will it take to integrate" questions

On free plans you can't, on business/enterprise plans you can.

Edit: Gemini says you could make a custom worker and do a 5XX redirect that way, but I haven't tried it. Does make sense though.

the custom error page is configurable at a domain (zone) level

which sometimes gets annoying because branding for subdomains could be different.

_if_ you're using ubuntu,

there's the CVE tracker you can use to ~argue~ establish that the versions you're using either aren't affected or, have been patched.

that said, we've also had the same auditor ask us to remove the openssh version upon telnet (which by RFC 4253, is not possible)

so ymmv

LTS releases are great. I only use LTS releases on my servers. Problem is, if you need PCI compliance (credit card industry requirements, largely making no sense), some credit card processors will tell you to work with companies like SecureMetrics, who "audit" systems.

SecureMetrics will scan your system, find an "old" ssh version and flag you for non-compliance, even though your ssh was actually patched through LTS maintenance. You will then need to address all the vulnerabilities they think you have and provide "proof" that you are running a patched version (I've been asked for screenshots…).

thewisenerd commented on The realities of being a pop star   itscharlibb.substack.com/... · Posted by u/lovestory

There is a weird assumption people make that somebody as successful as Charli XCX isn't smart because her persona is "I like cocaine and partying," and then are surprised when she can express herself like this. Like she says: "Another thing about being a pop star is that you cannot avoid the fact that some people are simply determined to prove that you are stupid."

Making music at any professional level is extremely hard work. Touring and dancing and hosting shows is even harder. It requires a substantial intellectual capacity and stamina to achieve. You either have these things yourself, or you are propped up entirely by others who have them and are invested in you for money's sake. Given Charli XCX's background, it's not actually surprising that she, in fact, has all the talent, skill, and intellect required to do this stuff herself.

Editing to add: Another place to look to learn that people with this skillset often have very very deep inner lives is Dua Lipa's book club podcast (https://www.service95.com/tag/book-club). As someone who used to run these kinds of in-depth interviews, I can say, she is damn good at it.

i see the complaints around URL length limits and i raise you..

storing the entire state in the hash component of the URL

http://example.com/foo#abc

since this is entirely client-side, you can pretty much bypass all of the limits.

one place i've seen this used is the azure portal.. (payload | gzip | b64) take of that what you will.
