Based on the privateering clause, it seems Congress could authorize hackers to pwn computers and accounts belonging to an adversary and allow the hacker to keep any gains from that.

Smart! That is an interesting application of contextualism.

Just a heads up, im in the US, and when I click the link to buy, the price is $24.99

I'd personally love it if this also indexed text files and pdfs.

The search bar in Finder does a decent job searching for text (recursively) in files and PDFs.

Just a reminder that the distinction between Lebanon and Syria is quite recent - due to the breakup of the Ottoman empire. There more well-known named region historically is A-Shaam in Arabic, Syria often in English:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syria_(region)

It includes Lebanon, parts of northern Palestine, South-eastern Turkey, and (northern?) Jordan. And maybe a bit more.

There was an autonomous Lebanon of one form of another since at least the 16th century, though. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Lebanon_Emirate

> At least accordingly to myth

And a lot of archaeological evidence!

> Carthage was colonized from Tyre, which is today in Lebanon.

It was founded by Phoenicians [0], whose land today largely coincides with modern-day Lebanon, which as a self-governing state is a relatively modern construct (post WW1).

Actually, a self-governing Lebanon existed in one form or another since at least the 16th century: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Lebanon_Emirate

Was there any mention of the jet elsewhere, e.g. in some printed t&c? If it was only in a random tv ad, then I side with Pepsico too. And I wish I had a spare 700k for a random stunt like this.

More like $1.3M in today's dollars.

Automatics are more fuel efficient, and govenment keeps raising the efficiency requirements. Automatics do this by having a lot of gears and changing up very aggressively. It would suck to drive a 7 or 9 speed manual (maybe truck drivers feel differently; I think 5 is optimal for a car) but automatics can manage it and squeeeze out another tenth of an MPG.

I love manual transmissions and will never buy an automatic unless forced to. I'd rather buy a used car with a manual than anything new.

Noooo. Manuals are on average much more efficient. I drive a 1st generation Honda Insight, and the manual version gets ~10 mpg more than the automatic.
