How can Google get away with this behavior legally? I am so disappointed that the most recent antitrust lawsuit that they "lost" regarding their search engine monopoly basically forced their hand to defund their only real competitor, thus making sure that they cannot get into trouble for killing it off to cement their other monopoly on the browser market. This vertical integration of being both a browser vendor and having a massive stake in how much browsers allow users to control how content is processed should have been stopped a long time ago by forcing them to split development of Chrome into a separate company.

How can they get away for not providing you free services ?

The names are literally taken from the paper.

well the paper also contains the code so I doubt anyone who looked at the paper cares about this paste - for folks who did not read the paper this is not very readable

America is moving the other way because all the wealth and power has been sucked up by the 0.1% and a large majority are too tired, stressed, and poor.

Everything stems from this.

Too much wealth tied up in the health insurance scam to switch to single payer, so people stay bound to their employment, and they can't afford time off or visits to the doctor because nothing is completely covered anymore.

Too much wealth available to politicians and getting elected requires massive funding, so already rich folk are the vast majority of elected officials now. Which means they're completely out of touch of what a poor person's life consists of nowadays.

nice excuse for not being able to maintain relationships. Going by your logic, maintaining one in poorer countries should be impossible

I know we like to get the pitchforks out, but, it appears to be accidental:

they did it god damn. Literally best service I pay for. I do around 100 searches a day, but that's no longer relevant!

Hmm? The increase in average temperature from 1981 (the earliest on that chart) to now hasn't had any meaningful impact on people's standard of living. Why should a similar increase over the next 40 years be any different?

I mean, no kidding. Half the people I work with are H-1B.

The program takes jobs away from Americans and should be illegal.

I want to work with people from my town, not people from halfway across the world.

seaman1921 · 2 years ago
if you want to pick who you want to work with, maybe start your own company

and then you will probably figure out yourself that you need the H-1Bs
