I had a look at some of FileVine's output, and I can say I'm not surprised. This is not an organization that prizes engineering at all.

A blast from the past! Pyscripter was definitely a top contender back in Python 2.3 days. Not sure when I stopped using it and why. Seems to be actively maintained. Will have to try again.

This is a nice system. I wonder if modshim can be used to or extended to do hot reload.

I thought you could carry forward losses or something. i.e. Once profitable you can use your previous losses as 'tax credits'.

Yes, but businesses operate on cash, not tax credits.

Interesting. I've been missing `svn changelist` feature in Git. GitButler calls it virtual branches. Indispensable feature. Going to try it out.

This seems to be similar to a microwave circulator. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circulator

Most semiconductor EDA software cost > $10k per seat, sometimes > $100k per seat.
satya71 commented on Ask HN: Should we bring software dev in-house?    · Posted by u/45HCPW

This seems like the story in "The Phoenix Project". If the outsourced software is critical to your operations, it seems it should be brought in-house. Software design is best done when the feedback loop is very tight. It never is with outsourced software.

As for how to go about building a team, you are better placed than I am to figure it out. Probably start with a small team with the most critical bits and build from there.
