"But I'm not one of those fancy 10x developers. Instead of a master of craftsmanship, I'm more a master of close-enough-manship"

I definitely relate to this comment.

and he also says "It was a brutal year long journey of 18 hour days"

I think people are looking for those unicorn 10x devs that are like Good Will Hunting for code, but forget that there are those devs that might not get things right away but never stop until they figure things out. You'll probably find a lot more of those than the unicorns

I agree with you, and with the comment but.. Come on, this guy is not THAT type of guy

I hope we can put to rest the argument that LLMs are only marginally useful in coding - which are often among the top comments on many threads. I suppose these arguments arise from (a) having used only GH copilot which is the worst tool, or (b) not having spent enough time with the tool/llm, or (c) apprehension. I've given up responding to these.

Our trade has changed forever, and there's no going back. When companies claim that AI will replace developers, it isn't entirely bluster. Jobs are going to be lost unless there's somehow a demand for more applications.

I mean, I don't know when do you retire in your countries. Here, it's at 65 years old (ridiculous)

I am 30 and even before AI, I NEVER thought for a moment I would get to keep coding until I am f*king 65, lol

How did you discover you have poor deep sleep? Wearables?

I’ve been discussing my issue with (for lack of a better term) chronic fatigue. He suspects it might be an issue with my sleep, but

- I fall asleep really quickly - no obvious signs of apnea - I wake up feeling pretty good

My issue is that by 10:30am I’m dragging.

I have very very poor deep sleep, but no apneas. Anyone in the same boat?

Yes, if you have the paid ChatGPT Plus and the feature is enabled in your settings and you are using GPT-4 then you will get 4x the context length, which equates to 4x the in-chat short-term memory.
sarasasa28 · 2 years ago
I do play plus. What feature you are referring to? as of now, a lot of times when I continue a conversation, it forgets the suggestions it did before, for example

Bt checked just now and I see Dall-E and advanced data analysis, for what is worth

Now that we are here. Any way to avoid chatgpt having amnesia between the same conversation window?

I absolutely hate when it starts forgetting stuff, you have to send EVERYTHING in the same prompt or it's impossible for it to work correctly
