> Spec-driven development is becoming the primary driver of code generation.

This sounds like my current "phase" of AI coding. I have had so many project ideas for years that I can just spec out, everything I've thought about, all the little ideas and details, things I only had time to think about, never implement. I then feed it to Claude, and watch it meet my every specification, I can then test it, note any bugs, recompile and re-test. I can review the code, as you would a Junior you're mentoring, and have it rewrite it in a specific pattern.

Funnily enough, I love Beads, but did not like that it uses git hooks for the DB, and I can't tie tickets back to ticketing systems, so I've been building my own alternative, mine just syncs to and from github issues. I think this is probably overkill for whats been a solved thing: ticketing systems.

Me too. I've been using spec-kitty [0], a fork of Spec Kit. Quite amazing how a short interview on an idea can produce full documents of requirements, specs, tasks, etc. After a few AI projects, this is my first time using spec driven development, and it is definitely an improvement.

https://finbodhi.com — It's a personal finance app. It helps you track, understand, benchmark and plan your finances - with double-entry accounting. *You own* your financial data. It’s local-first, syncs across devices, and everything’s encrypted in transit (we do have your email for subscription tracking and analytics). Supports multiple-accounts (track as a family or even as an advisor), multi-currency, a custom sheet/calculator to operate on your accounts (calculate taxes etc) and much more.

Most recently, we added support for benchmarking (create custom dashboards tracking nav and value chart of subsets of your portfolio) and us stocks, etfs etc.

I wrote about benchmarking here: https://finbodhi.com/docs/blog/benchmark-scenarios

NOTE: you can try demo without signup, but it doesn't work in Firefox Incognito mode.

Looks cool! I've had a hard time finding personal finance apps that are e2ee, so this is great.

Only downside is manually importing documents, but there isn't any other way, really, without giving up your data to Plaid or another service.

Inspired by a TED talk I saw [0] where the researcher from Microsoft displayed a program with AI assisting with thinking while someone was reading and annotating a document. They claimed it was a way to sharpen critical thinking instead of killing it. They didn't release the product, but I figured it was cool and useful, so I've spent the weekend creating it. It's been a great way for me to practice using agents, and I've learned a lot from this process.

How many times do you unlock your phone a day? For some people it’s over 100+ times a day Face ID is convenient, useful and secure. The alternative? People will use short numeric passcodes that are easy to bypass with devices like Cellulite.

Instead, we should push for laws and protections around our private devices. The 4th Amendment actually protects our personal effects and imo this biometric loophole is illegal.

As the other commenter pointed out, in the meantime, practice how to quickly lock your phone - and better yet, when in dangerous situations, leave it behind or turn it off.

Congrats on the launch, cool idea and something I could see myself using.

Tangental question: why is it that these AI generated websites all have a similar UI?

It seems to me it is more of a penalty to encourage people to get Real ID while still allowing them to fly. I would imagine most air travelers have some kind of real id, passport, actual real id DL or global entry card. Very few people cannot get real id due to name inconsistency issues, but most are just lazy. Allowing them to fly for $45 seems reasonable to me, particularly if they cause delays at security.

There are 15 other forms of ID that TSA accepts, so Real ID isn’t necessary: https://www.cchfreedom.org/national-id/

Citizens Council for Health Freedom has a whole page about Real ID. [0] Senator Rand Paul has a bill to repeal it. Crucially, you can still fly without a Real ID - there are 15 other forms of acceptable ID.

Not sure what the point of the service is. Given that it's more expensive than other MVNOs, and isn't even more private. You can still buy prepaid SIMs in store with cash, so it's harder to get more private than that. Not to mention this company asks for your zip+4 code (which identifies down to a specific street), and information for E-911. It's basically like Trump Mobile but for people who care about "privacy".

Can prepaid eSIMs be used anonymously?
