Of all the technologies I got exposure to on my Comp Sci degree, SVG is the only one I really still use every day.

It still feels like the more context the agents have the worse the response becomes - and simulataneously the more money ends up being thrown at Anthropic. I have to handhold agents to get anywhere near stuff I actually want to commit with my name on.

I just replied to someone else about this. I had exactly the same challenge with my first newborn. Simply sitting in a chair for hours is really mentally taxing and a huge waste of time. Good for you, that you've found something that doesn't get in a way of helping your child to fall asleep.

Baby sling and a standing desk! Get's a little uncomfy in the heat, but I could pretty much do a whole workday - with a couple of feeding breaks, and milk for the baby of course ;).

Isn't the site itself that UI that it's created??

Dunno. It's not totally obvious to me, so I suspect others will struggle too.

My main complaint with the original half life 2 was that the floors weren't shiny enough, so I'm glad to see this has finally been rectified.

But this is sooooo shiny!

As a developer I went onto this page expecting to see some UI that it's created... That's usually my first port of call with any of this stuff, does it pump out something that's actually useful.

I might not be your target demo, but feedback's feedback!

What are AKGs?
royletron · 10 months ago
Yeah basically very big headphones. No need for noise cancelling if you have a thick closed back... well sorta

For air travel, I really like my Xreal Air glasses now that I have a newer iPhone 16pro. Just plug in the USB-C cable, and you have a virtual 60" screen in front of you which works perfectly for Netflix, etc. And they cost less than 10% of the cost of an AVP, and are not limited to 2-3 hours of battery life (they get power from the phone).

Note that if you have an older (lightning) iPhone, don't bother with these. They require a pair of dongles. Not only does that make things really awkward, but one of the dongles ends up apparently blocking HDCP, and prevents you from using anything but ... your own... downloaded content.

Steam Deck and AKGs. I've finally chipped away at that monstrous Steam library.

It's not a sport, it's something that kids used to do pre 1950s. People were poor, didn't have manufactured "stuff", so they made their own toys out of simple things like stones, sticks, old wheels etc Football was likely popular because a single ball could keep a while bunch of kids happy for an afternoon (if someone could actually afford a ball).

I'm almost 50, and to me the image of boys playing conkers only comes from books or TV based in early 1900s UK. I've never actually seen anyone play it.

And nowadays people don't really grow up at all. They continue playing right into adulthood and old age, with luxury toys.

I played conkers in the 90's, my kids (7 and 10) play conkers now. We even have debates on whether applying nail polish is considered cheating - it is, it totally is! What's more, I was brought up in a poor area of Manchester, they've been brought up in quite an affluent area of Oxfordshire - so couldn't be any different!
