Genuine question, do you normally use old browsers as your daily driver for interfacing with the web? I’d be interested in learning why.
potato-peeler · 2 hours ago
Not as a daily driver but to make sure a software has wide support, not all users update their phone frequently. Also, many web features do not require using the latest in browser features.

And just to be clear, I was poking fun at this so called “CTO”. That guy should have known better.

I see many web/ui frameworks posted in HN which don’t test in older browsers but still claim to be minimal or plain.

Thank you testing this on older browsers before releasing. This is truly an ultra minimal library - https://ibb.co/DDGmLYdg, https://ibb.co/h1WQG3GK

What does clock cycles mean? Don’t think they are referring to the cpu clock?

Isn’t delayed auditory feedback similar to echo?

This is what helped me back in the day when I did that stuff. I didn't know my ass from a hole in the ground and Avi's guides got me up and running, fully multi-homed!

> I don't believe someone can understand the problem, and make _this_ in good faith.

This is an extremely aimless rant. Simply claiming group policies are not enough for an average user or at the very least is not a good start, is misleading. Unless you can back it up with data, your comment is in bad faith.

Because of the formulation of the question, I assume (please don't be irritated, if wrong) that you have very little knowledge of networking. In that case, it won't harm the Beej guide, but probably not the best point to start. The article discuses BGP protocol, which is totally absent in the linked guide. You may write literally millions of networking applications without need to know anything about BGP. Only if you are working in the backbone of the internet, you will encounter BGP, not even in big private networks. It will be a long way to really start from 0 up to BGP.

I have to start from somewhere. I don’t mind the grind. I am fascinated by networking. Will begin with beej guide, and go from there.

Slightly off topic, but if I want to understand the concepts discussed in this article, what all topics should I learn? Is this a good starting place or enough to understand everything in this article - https://beej.us/guide/bgnet/

What are the community guidelines? Is it okay to post personal projects similar to show hn?

Isn’t arduino completely open source including its PCB, firmware, IDE, etc, even accessible for commercial use?
