It’s been really stressful. I know python, but not really any other languages. I’m able to get work done. But I’m really nearly the same as a fresh grad. But really, I was just bumming around, then studied for four months and destroyed their algorithms questions, so much so that expectations for me are really high. But all I know is leetcode, literally nothing else...

Can someone with knowledge of music theory explain how it works?

Meaning, how come if I close my eyes and place some random tiles, it still come out sounding OK. But not so if I bang random keys on a piano.

If you play any notes within a scale they are guaranteed to sound good together. Note: I'm not an expert, correct me if I'm wrong.

Airbnb used to have a header X-Hi-Airbnb with a hiring manager's email a while ago. I imagine they got rid of it because of the volume of emails.

I remember I checked Hinge API a few years ago and the exposed their users last name. Wonder if this has been fixed by now.

Twitter was the most useful social network for me personally, depending on who you follow you can come across some interesting ideas there.

Yet, after a few months “sober” I wonder if I might be missing out. Is the signal to noise ratio high enough to justify using Twitter these days if you are not a major celebrity and don’t intend to promote something?

Great opportunity for a "SkySafe" app; filter out known flight/tail numbers based on the equipment (with data from public FAA feed). Can't lie about your equipment in flight plans to the FAA.

What metrics would you consider when it comes to aircraft safety?

What I really want is an app that goes through all my photos/chat history and deletes anything that might contain sensitive information after 30 days, such as from screenshots. I already use the iMessage feature that lets you delete history after 30 days, but I wish I could pretty much do this for everything. There are some things I might want to keep (like photos, for example), but I'd prefer to just have anything private deleted automatically. If it's information I really want to save, I'll make sure to save it somewhere safe.

How would you define sensitive content? The real challenge here is to train a classifier.

it’s worth pointing out that large US tech companies hire international applicants and sponsor work visas for these folks. i get that not everyone is willing/able to make the move for various reasons, of course.

edit: applications -> applicants

nnd · 6 years ago
Except that work visas are virtually impossible to get these days.
