This equivalent to over 600 years of pay for the whole company. Absolutely insane.

I really want to see more dorm style apartments available in NYC, see: https://www.evergreen.edu/sites/default/files/styles/large/p...

Even more tenement type layouts would be spectacular for increasing stock, but this is just half of the problem. It's all entirely dependent on reducing the level of greed landlords can get away with today.

NYC restricts building height to restrict population by land area. There isn't really a need for small apartments since population density is the limiting factor not space. You could build a not much more expensive apartment building instead of a dorm for the same population.

"There is no technical solution for this"

This isn't really true. The easiest technical solution to the problem of ISPs using your wifi data is to simply use your own WiFi router which does not send the data to them.

They can still deduce this from the traffic patterns.

In both job listings and most analyses, equity and / or bonuses are often omitted. It is hard to tell if the same is true here, but in software they can make up such a large portion of the pay that anything omitting it is close to meaningless.

I don't think the people in North Carolina are in any way a flood zone - meaning most rainfalls and storms will not and has not caused flooding there in the history of that location.

Merely extending flood insurance is not the solution. There should be a national pool of money available for climate disasters that can be disbursed every year to the major disaster incidents. This money can be raised from corporations or insurance companies or executives or any other pots of wealth.

The problem with a national climate disaster relief fund is that there is no incentive structure to push people to protect their property or migrate to less risky areas. We have areas that are destroyed every other year but people keep on rebuilding.

Perhaps as an alternative there could be a national fund with risk adjusted fees that is mandatory in cities that receive services.
