Damn, Unpoly looks great! Never tried HTMX but have been a fan of it, it solves a UX problem that frameworks like Django and Rails suffer from, without needing to bring in something heavy like React.

I'm currently working on a side project in Rails using Stimulus but sometimes I wonder if Stimulus is overkill with all of the controllers and stuff as well. Do you have an opinion on when you should reach for something like Inertia or Stimulus over htmx?

In most simple cases you probably don't want to be handling request-response initiated DOM updates in a Stimulus controller. Turbo Frames and Turbo Streams are the more htmx-like in functionality and they're excellent for this.

That doesn't bode well. The last thing I want from macOS is Windows-like overbearing insistence on AI everything.

If jobs were based on self-perceived value addition there would never be a layoff ever

Your executive team is going to "remove" non-AI folks regardless of their claims about efficiency.

Just like they forced you to return to office while ignoring the exact same efficiency claims. They had realestate to protect. Now they have AI to protect.

As always, the answer is that we need to found our own companies and stop letting the vampires suck our blood.

It seems obviously incorrect that all the billionaires supporting Trump don't see themselves as part of the "top". He's not making an observation, he's trying to confabulate a vision of the world that will appeal to people who will upvote him fake internet points.

The world we live in now is one where fake internet points can be redeemed for political and social capital. The worst people we know figured this out before the sane ones and that's why we're in this mess we're in.

Developers building things like web apps can use macOS.

Developers developing for Windows, or who need Windows-only toolchains cannot.

Who's developing for Windows? Microsoft themselves are turning things that would naturally have been native into web views instead.

RIP Steam Controller. This headless Steam Deck is no substitute. The only halfway decent FPS controller has no substitute.

Why is this allowed to occur?

Why is Microsoft allowed to operate in such a user hostile way?

Why aren't people like up in arms massively tanking their stock value, boycotting, reputation harming in every legal way possible en masse?

Like are people just careless and distracted 24/7?

Like surely this should just not be a thing?

I just don't understand how inhumane hostile behavior is just so rampant and like allowed to exist in our society.

Because the only mechanism to hold these mega corporations / billionaires accountable is government, and they're already powerful enough to have waged massive information wars convincing people to fight each other instead of them.

This comment sums up my own feelings towards this concisely :

> This is not a “I do not like this distribution” kind of argument.

> This is a “the people you are sending my money to want me and my friends dead or deported” kind of argument.

from: https://community.frame.work/t/framework-supporting-far-righ...

Beyond the disappointment I have in framework for giving my money to someone so clearly off the rails, it's also disappointing to see it wasted on such a poor distribution as well. Omarchy, in isolation, is just a bloated arch install with thrown together scripts, zoom, spotify, and google apps preinstalled. I appreciate that it brought new people into linux but there are countless more polished and creative distributions that would be excellent to see partner with framework instead.

Don't forget the pre-installed Basecamp and Hey!

Quite a few Americans who haven't properly realized that we have in fact become the baddies we used to tell tales about defeating 89 years prior.

Real shame it didn't take that long after those soldiers of WW2 died out to forget all the lessons taught.
