>My daily workhorse is a M1 Pro that I purchased on release date, It has been one of the best tech purchases I have made

Same, I just realized it's three years old, I've used every day for hours and it still feels like the first day I got it.

They truly revindicated on this as their laptops were getting worse and worse and worse (keyboard fiasco, touchbar, ...).

"Please let us route Chrome's money into our friends' scam projects". Yeah, don't see that happening.

I find it very hard to justify investing time into learning something that's neither open source nor has multiple interchangeable vendors. Being good at using Nvidia chips sounds a lot like being an ABAP consultant or similar to me. I realize there's a lot of money to be made in the field right now, but IIUC historically this kind of thing has not been a great move.

Mega lmao. They already owe $20B.

Their revenue is good, though, further adding to the mistery.

I hadn't even heard of it until today.

I thought the article was about some internal Netflix piece of infra (well ... it is in some way) but it really is some website for some annual event ... wow.

This has to be one of the most over-engineered websites out there.

The image encodings often don’t have positional information in them very well.

A lot of pictures on the web are flipped horizontally bc. of cameras, mirrors, you name it. It's usually trivial for humans to infer what are the directions involved, I wonder if LLMs could do it as well.
