I tried the same. 2 weeks after I started I attended a party where people mentioned that it was sad that Michael Jackson had died. I thought they were joking, but turned out they didn’t. It was in late June 2009. I started reading the news again.

But today I read them differently. I read news site, with some curation (e.g., settings for threshold for articles that comes up in various fields) together with a few favorite sites (e.g., HN)

Interesting write up! I’ve thought about how university exams are done effectively nowadays. I took my degree in CS almost 20 years ago, and being a user of LLMS - I can’t really see how any of my old exams would work today if students would be allowed LLMs.

What makes you think your brain isn't also brute forcing potential solutions subconciously and only surfacing the useful results?

Can you try calculating 101 * 70 in your head?

> A nearly 30 percent increase in unified memory bandwidth to 153GB/s

I'll believe the benchmarks, not marketing claims, but an observation and a question.

1. AMD EPYC 4585PX has ~89GB/s, with pretty good latency, as long you use 2xdimm

2. How does this compare to the memory bandwidth and latency of M1,M2,M3,M4 in reality with all of the caveats? It seems like M1 was a monumental leap forward, then everything else was a retraction.

Why retraction?

Looks great! Impressive that it looks so slick and feature complete. It’s been a while since I used iTunes, so don’t fully understand where iTunes today is failing. Can you elaborate?

You can buy new discs on Amazon. While there are many minidisc players on eBay, my best finds are on Craigslist. Why? Demographics. The old guys who find them in a shoebox in their closet think they might be worth $20. I’m not exaggerating- I travel a bit and in large or small towns I’ll scan local CR for “minidisc”, “mini disc”, “minidisk”, etc. I recently acquired five players from a single seller in Bend, OR for $50. All in nearly pristine condition.

I buy empty minidisc clear cases from Japan (similar to CD jewel cases) on eBay. I have a photoshop template for printing card stock on my Epson that allows me to create art and graphics that fits perfectly in the case. Once the completed minidisc is placed inside it fits like a glove. I find it all very satisfying.

I also bought a Sony MXD-D3 ( hard to find and expensive on eBay) so I can quickly rip an entire CD. Or I can use the “Rec-it” button and just capture a single track.

One of my other decks is a Tascam MD-301 MK II which has a keyboard port so I can easily tag albums and tracks with text that dances across the player screen on most playback devices.

Check out Molnify www.molnify.com that both have support for formulas, and allows you to publish them as APIs (disclaimer: I built it)
