In my opinion, using AI tools for programming at the moment, unless in a sandboxed environment and on a toy project, is just ludicrous. The amount of shady things going on in this domain (AI trained on stolen content, no proper attribution, not proper way to audit what's going out to third party servers etc.) should be a huge red flag for any professional developer.

Use AI to audit what’s produced by AI. Problem solved! /sarcasm

Isn't this just a tax which Chinese customers will end up paying for?

I work in a FAANG company, and our recruiters know better than to send us candidates without a 4yr degree minimum in any engineering (no CS required but degree required)

matt3210 commented on Claude Code weekly rate limits    · Posted by u/thebestmoshe

I'm probably not going to hit the weekly limit, but it makes me nervous that the limit is weekly as opposed to every 36 hours or something. If I do hit the limit, that's it for the entire week—a long time to be without a tool I've grown accustomed to!

I feel like someone is going to reply that I'm too reliant on Claude or something. Maybe that's true, but I'd feel the same about the prospect of loosing ripgrep for a week, or whatever. Loosing it for a couple of days is more palatable.

Also, I find it notable they said this will affect "less than 5% of users". I'm used to these types of announcements claiming they'll affect less than 1%. Anthropic is saying that one out of every 20 users will hit the new limit.

Now your vibes can be at the beach.

The "AI" here is not the same "AI" as claude, Grok or OpenAI. It's just an optimization algorithm that tries different things in parallel until it finds a better solution to inform the next round.
